Here in Central America, you can only find regular Jack Daniels at the supermakets, but for the Gentleman Jack and above ya gotta go to the gourmet import stores peppered throughout the city, and buy them at double the US prices.

I love regular JD, one of my favourite spirit drinks, but I've never tried the single barrel. They had it in my local supermarket before Christmas, but it was nearly twice the price of the standard JD so I passed and got a bottle of standard instead.

Don't think I've ever seen or heard of Evan Williams here (Southern UK), and I used to run a bar!

I can tell a definite difference in Jack's premium brands. But it isn't usually worth the money to me, but once in a while I buy one.

Evan is brewed in the same area as JD, and claims to be one of the oldest whiskey breweries. (or is it stills?)

Don't think we get Evan over here, at least not yet. I can remember when Maker's Mark was first introduced in this country, it was a limited edition at the time, but now you see it everywhere.

I was not kidding re the above. It is true. He says he has lived as both and female, and in his older age is presenting male, but wishes he had chosen another name.

This is an ancient thread, surprised it was brought up, but I guess the spammer saw it. I thought muslim arabs didn't drink, or is it like Texas Baptists in dry counties, only in the back room and they get it from the local bootlegger. I lived there so I know.

Away out here in the west the two are side by side in the casino liquor stores (cheapest liquor in town). The labels are similar, and must really wonder if they come from the same distillery, label notwithstanding.
Evan Williams is somewhat less expensive, and I really can't tell the difference.
