Just watched "One man one jar" - OH...MY...GOD!

As a Veterinary Technology student who has seen a lot of gross stuff in her time and who rarely, if ever, pales at the sight of blood (pardon the pun), I didn't expect myself to have that bad a reaction to that video. I was actually feeling lightheaded! I've stood next to the operating table and watched the bloodiest surgeries performed on animals (MASSIVE tumor removals, mostly), but I never even batted an eyelash at those. But this...oh my god! I was really ready to vomit. The only time I ever wanted to vomit by viewing something was when I interned at a vet's office a few years ago and had to watch a cat get de-clawed.

My god, I'm still reeling. I didn't have as bad a reaction to Two Girls One Cup! I certainly hope that man went to the hospital after that, because judging from the amount of blood he lost, he could have punctured his intestines. Even if he didn't, he still lost a shit-load (pardon the pun, once again) of blood.

But I saw some unusual stuff (the worst one being a dog with fly strike - maggots EVERYWHERE - they've always freaked me out.) I've seen loads of different surgeries, I've done an enema on a cat and assisted with pyometra surgeries (they stink to high heaven) without batting an eyelid like you but that video really freaked me out!!

PS I'm curious to find out what does Veterinary Technology actually entail, is it different to what I'd call Vet Nursing?

A Veterinary Technician is the same as a Veterinary Nurse. In fact, just yesterday in my Vet Management class we were learning about how the United States and Canada are the only two countries in the world not allowed to call Vet Techs Vet Nurses, as the association of nurses in human medicine once upon a time sued the balls off of the American Veterinary Medical Association because they had the rights to the word "nurse" in human medicine.

That being said, my teacher also told us that if we're ever having trouble explaining to people what Vet Techs are, we can just say that we're nurses for animals.
