View Full Version : Inspiration?

I see that many of you are quite prolific. My own stories are based upon personal experience and good roleplays from the past.

How do you keep yourself stimulated and interested? One can only describe the sex so many ways and there must be a story line, some conflict, pathos or adventure to keep it good.

Inspiration isn't my problem. Getting it down -- that's my problem. What sort of things do you like? If you don't mind some more fantastic related stuff I'd be happy to give you some ideas.

My favorite thing is one on one romance in a setting of adventure. Marooned on an island, meeting on a long trip, by ship or by plane.

This very first good role play I did was with someone very much into ageplay. She hooked me completely though I draw a line at pediphilia. My girls must be consentual and responsive.

You gave three examples...why not work on them?

But why limit yourself to what turns YOU on? Take inspiration from what other people write, or what turns THEM on.

I'm having the same problem with my story at the moment. At first the sex came easily, but its becoming harder to write. I keep picking it up but not writing any more.

Any suggestions?

I think everyone has this problem. As Gertrude Stein once put it, "I had the syrup, but it wouldn't pour."

You can't force it. If it's not flowing freely, just stop for awhile and come back to it when you feel more like writing.

I don't do this, but I know that some writers beat this "sex description" problem by making a word list. Then, they pick and choose from the word list.

I'm not judging how writers put their stories together. If a writer uses a word list and it works for them without sounding manufactured, I think that's fine. It's just not my preference.

My trouble is that some words and phrases just sound sexier to me than others, so I overwork them and repeat myself. That's one of the hazards of writing too many stories here.

But I think being creative as to the setting, the plot and the dialogue may be more important than being descriptive about the actual sex acts.

I know what you mean about being descriptve about other stuff. In a few places I've completely left out sex descriptons, basically commenting about them starting, then later about them emerging from the room or something.

But unfortunately I'm at a point that kinda requires a sex scene and I'm also partway through. Just having a problem getting the scene finished.

I think the problem may be that I've been working on the story too long... over a year now.

Also, I do have a wordlist of sorts. Mainly alternative words for words I use too often, to try and create some variation.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. Hopefully I'll get it uploaded soon.

With regards to wordlists, what I do is associate certain terms with certain people. That is, when one character is a viewpoint character I use "slit," with another character its "cunt," with another "vagina." In addition to mixing the terms so they don't get boring the terms you use when dealing with a character can give some idea of personality.

Hmmm. How about:

It is the reign of Victoria and a prim and proper English miss has traveled out to India to meet and marry the man her parents arranged for her. She discovered upon her arrival that he died of a fever while she was in transit. She ends up spending her last few pounds to purchase purchase a ride back to England. Aboard the ship she meets . . .

If you can find a partner, one that will respond with more than, 'Wow, that was hot', you can really put some zing in the sex. I love to start a scene, do the man things of foreplay then pass it to a partner that fills in her reactions and feeling to what I did then takes it a bit farther and so forth.

Good partners are few and far between but they are out there looking for something fresh.

It is my experience that all kinds of things can breakup a beautiful role partnership. Spouses catching you is a big killer, lol.

I have found myself having a hell of a time trying to accurately describing the sexual encounters of my youth.
I have had to leave whole areas blank for days sometimes until I am able to relive that moment. its tough to tell it acurately.

I thought it was probably just me, its nice to know I'm not alone in this regard.

I did have someone that was helping me, but shes kinda dissapeared off the face of the earth right now (or at very least, is avoiding me).

I share your pain.

Not sure how I'm gonna replace her. Anyone want to be a beta-reader? Heh. I have a few people who read my stuff as its written, but their comments dont normally get past "thats hot".

I'd be happy to help you spice up a sex scene, but then it would read like MY sex scene, not yours. I'm not sure what purpose would be served by that.

I see what you mean. That wasn't really what I meant I needed. More someone to read it when its still in the early stages and pick up on things like repetition (I do that alot) or unrealistic exchanges between the characters.

I think I'll make a more specific post when its in need of proper editing.

I'd be happy to be a beta-reader, but before becoming a beta-reader for you I'd need to see some of your writing. We could have completely different styles, or our weaknesses might be too close together, or there might be other problems that would make my opinions pointless. (For example, I love AshleyBarbie's stories, but my doing beta-reading for her would be pointless. Her style is too different from mine for my opinion to be valid. This doesn't necessarily work both ways, of course.)

Yeah, of course. Like I said, when I actually need this kinda help, I'll make a more detailed request. Thanks for the offer though.

The rush I get when I get into something good. A memory of someone, and day dream about someone. I have been doing the dreaming my whole life and now I write some of it down and share it.

I admit to pleasure when someone tells me they enjoy what I write but even if they hate it. It is still mine and my pleasure.

What was my purpose in opening this to begin with?

I do enjoy your opinions and critques.

Any suggestions? Yeah I've a suggestion, find some good Mexican weed, smoke a j or 2, and start writing. Works for me :D

This statement is exactly why I personally find you so appealing. You appear to have the fetish of having a man mark you, make you his with his cum.

I on the other hand would want to adore you, breed you as my mate. The difference and the pathos because of it are quite exciting.

Hmmmmmmm....well, feel free to use me as a character in your story. I'd be honored. :D

I'll have to watch that fetish thing...

I am new to putting up stories for others to read.

So far the more extreme ones get read the most and commented on the most.

The tender ones get the higher ratings and are my personal favorites. Perhaps I do a better job of writing those.

I suspect as someone else said, stories mostly get skimmed for the 'good parts'.
