  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Here is a tip for writers. If you are looking to advance your writing to the next level, there are two things I can offer. I've already written at length about one, which is grammar. There's nothing that screams "don't take my writing seriously" than poor grammar. Not being good with grammar is no excuse. You can learn. I cannot jump up and dunk a basketball. It is simply physically impossible for me to do so despite any desire I have. One can learn the rules of grammar, if so inclined.

The second step is using both a dictionary and perhaps even more so, a thesaurus. I use an electronic one which I admit is much easier than a book. I use the dictionary to help with spelling and to gain additional insight into lesser-known definitions of words. The thesaurus, however, is the real gem of this two-headed tool. Take this short passage:

It was obvious that she was lying, the marks on her face made it obvious.

Not a terrible sentence, but, the use of the word obvious twice is what stands out. By using a thesaurus, you can quickly look up obvious and come up with a couple of dozen alternatives, including plain, apparent, palpable, undeniable, visible, beyond doubt, and so on.

I do this with every story. As I'm re-reading my story, as I'm looking for grammar issues, typos, and the like, I'm looking for instances where I may be using a certain word too often. When I find this, I stop and look for a better word. Or, if a word simply strikes me as odd, or perhaps it just stands out in a not so good way, I'll look for an alternative.

Please note that in doing so, you need not find a word that is longer in letters or more difficult to understand. You're looking for the BEST word, because that's what you're trying to do...advance your writing to the next level.

Aw Ratspit, now I have to go and follow nameless. While I think that this is all very well and good, It's been my experience that it's better to work on a piece with a partner. doesn't matter really their experience level. newbie or old hand. The important parts of the story are where is this going.... when does it end? Your whole outlining and crap is all happy and good but not something that works for many organic writers and it is a cause for formulaic writing. That doesn't mean I am against it, it just doesn't work for me. Back to what I was going on about, where is the story going. Here it's going toward sex. Now the question you have to ask yourself is how hard are you going to make it for the sex to happen. Really? good lord he slew the dragon, rescued the villagers and cleaned the stables, killed the Neiman lion, and the lyrnian hydra and he still gets no action what does he have to do siege troy? Is the character's objective really to get laid? really if this is where your going with the piece it's not going to be terribly interesting. However I'm not going to say don't do it. it's just a sad way to write a story and they are okay I guess in drips and dollops but not really something you can get your teeth into. Is the protagonist a good guy? is he a super powered monster who has morality issues? is he something else? Is he just trying to get through, the sex is secondary to the plot?

    Do you have an arc?
This to me is important in story telling.... does the main character go from being prim and proper teen to a cum sucking slut? what are the conflicts with this how does the character internalize them. How far does she push herself?
    What else?....
Right um I'll think of some more stuff later maybe and add it....
    *waves to all my friends*

    Tools....
for most short stories I use the inapp for windows mail... Microsoft word works great and I can share it!

Beyond that I like Scrivener... it has a lot of the same tools as word except it will format it so that you can go directly to publication be it E-book or whatever.

There are a great number of free resources out there. Google anything you have a question about and you'll find an answer. Or you can do it the long and painful way, the way I did it, start posting some of your work and read what people say about it.
I might be wrong, but I don't think you'll find anyone on this site who has time to teach you.
Don't let your ideas die a lonely death inside your head, write them down. You never know, you might have a talent and hit the ball out of the park or you might miss, but you'll never know if you don't take a swing.

After all these years we can finally change the seemingly random order that our stories showed in on the story site. :geek:

I've been writing for several years on another site and I've recently decided to test my skills here. I've had my story posted for several days, yet it has yet to actually appear. It says it's posted, but no views or comments are logged and it has not shown up in the new stories list.

I feel I'm fairly good at figuering out how to do this, so I doubt it's just me making a foolish mistake, so could anyone tell me what the hold up might be? It was my understanding that Sexstoris was unmoderated, but perhaps that has changed? Am I simply waiting in que as I would only last site?

Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

The wait between submitting a story and seeing it published is usually at least a week -- sometimes more like a month. There's only one person reviewing stuff, and she has other duties, including moderation/administration of this forum.

    Patience is a virtue.

You could post your stuff here on the Sex Stories forum. Start a new thread for each story. Things here show up immediately. You won't get as many reads as you might get on the sex stories site, but you won't get down-voted into oblivion by trolls in the first hour either. Comments here will come only from logged-in members, so you might get some good feedback too.

Welcum to the asylum. Good luck.

Thank you. That is quite helpful. Apparently I was misinformed, but I am used to having to wait in que. I was a moderator at another site for several years, so I know how this works.

Posting here is an option, but from what I've read it would be here permanently and I'm not sure I wish to lose control of it in that way. Of course, work is always stolen online, but i would like to at least maintain the illusion of control.

As to the trolls, I'm sure it will happen. I've seen enough in my day to put little stock in the votes. It seems here much of it is caused by the scuffle to achieve a higher position on the top list pole, so ironically, the more you are trolled, the more they respect and fear your work.

I'll wait out the que. it will be interesting to see how the story fares.

The queue gets long because only one person is responsible for approving all stories before publication. If she can't keep current (life in the real world and other responsibilities on the site do that), the queue grows. After submitting your story initially, if you touch it in any way, it goes to the back of the queue. After publication you can edit or re-do your work, but then it goes to the back of the queue again, so the wait for approval starts over.

The problem with troll voting is they can sink your story to page three or four, never to be seen again. This is because of the way in which votes are counted. An anonymous vote counts as a single vote, but a logged-in member's vote counts as four anonymous votes. Since writers can't vote for their own stories, a single logged-in troll negative troll vote can sink a story quickly. "Sock" or duplicate accounts are permitted here, so a determined troll can destroy the rating of any story quickly, and there's not a damn thing the writer can do about it. As you can see from the listings, anything with less than about an 85% positive rating disappears into the void.
