Only being honest x

 

Men and women are self conscious. Some people spend their whole lives dealing with it.

 

Sure she can. It's all in the salesmanship. If you believe in what you're selling, the customer will believe it too.

The other thing is not so easy. If she wants you to hit on her, all your compliments are welcome and all your jokes are funny. It goes back to the salesmanship. In this case, you are the product and you have to convince your customer that this is the product she needs. Most women have a fairly realistic self image, as compared to the usual standards of beauty. Don't waste time trying to convince her she's cuter than Katy Perry. What you have to do is convince her that you find her attractive and desirable. It goes back to the that eye of the beholder thing. As the beholder in question, you get to set the standards and it doesn't matter what any other woman looks like.

 

This thread is very interesting. What person isn't insecure about something? It could be their thinning hair, their yellowed teeth, their accent, their shoe size, their job, their education, their home, their neighborhood. Is it them or is it the world's expectations?

Being an older woman, I was raised in an era prior to bra burning, by puritanical parents. We were blue collar, not college educated, always looking for the Norman Rockwell holidays. I was the shorter, plumper sibling, with my sister 5 inches taller than me. I grew up to the advertising, "If I've only one life, let me live it as a blonde". Siblings were blonde and blue-eyed, I was not. They were cute, I was smart. They were rowdy, I was responsible. They got the attention, I was a good girl. I was not the cheerleader, not the the cute girl, not the one all the boys lusted after. I had boyfriends, but they weren't captain of anything. And I was fine with that. I married a wonderful boy.

At my older age, looking at dating sites, men my age describe themselves as stocky - although they passed that mark long ago. Who do they look for? Women who are 35-45 years old, petite, athletic and toned. If I'm not looking for Brad Pitt, why are they still looking for Angelina Jolie? Is it because that they need the trophy? Do they think that younger, perkier women are looking for 60 and stocky?

Am I self-conscious? Of course I am. But I also know that he is going to like me for who I am, not what I look like. I'm a great catch, and he's going know that I'm with him because of who he is, not his dick size. (Which, by the way, really doesn't matter.)

 

If your with a guy who is constantly pointing out your faults that's on him not you . A real man will build your confidence not bring it down .

 

People are self conscious because society is mean. Its even worse with social media and the interwebs. I mean, just look at me, Im an asshole.
