Guys, it's cool. I'm a Latino half-breed. I'm giving everyone permission to call it 'Mexican' food. It might not literally be food from Mexico, but it either originated in, or was inspire by, cooking styles in Mexico and down through Central America. Calling "Mexican" is just easier for everyone else. It effectively communicates the concept or idea of the cooking style you're trying to convey to a person when you call it "Mexican".

Finally, I insist on calling Orientals "Orientals." An Asian might be a Caucasian. A Mongoloid can be an American Indian, or an Indonesian. When I call someone an Oriental I mean that he or she is from China, or a country that learned civilization from China. These include Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. I have a high opinion of Orientals, by the way. I have never known one I did not like.
