You can vote for as many (or as few) of the stories as you want to. You can also vote for the non entries, though a non entry can't win. The votes will be in the form of a number from 1 to 10. 10 Being the highest vote.

[My thought is you first think, "does this story deserve to win?" If the answer is yes, then you ask your self, "how much does this story deserve to win?" You answer the last question with your numeric vote.]

If you (for some inexplicable reason) thought "Seven Days" was the absolute best story ever, and also thought "No Trouble With Tribbles" or "FLASH!" were worthy, but were too squicked by long pork to vote for "Loner", you vote would look something like this:

Thank you for allowing us to vote in this way. All these stories deserve votes and non-votes.

This competition has been fun for me in the writing and reading of entries and non-entries. From your earlier post, I sensed that voting would be fun as well. It turned out to be just that - fun!

This is impressive. In the history of CAWs and KAWs, I'm not sure we ever had this many entries.

Read up, everybody. Sometimes reading other people's work helps me get ready to write myself. Hopefully the same thing happens to all of you, since we need a BIG field of entries for CAW #26. I'll announce the theme and rules for that Challenge as soon as you've voted for a winner here.

Also the question arose if you can vote for yourself. You can.

If it were me, I'd try to give an honest opinion of how much I thought my story stacked up against the rest. I couldn't eliminate all bias though.

I'll reserve the right to eliminate self votes if I feel it is in the best interests of the competition.

 

I have cast my votes to the winds. I will not tell what I gave each story but I will say no one earned a ten, I did not cast any vote for my own, and no one was fell below low middle numbers. The bulk of my votes fell in the 4,5,6 range because they were average stories.

Remember average stories can still make millions, look at the "Twilight" series...

 

Well below average stories work too -- look at Fifty Shades.

 

Its interesting to see what votes people cast. One of the perks of being lumbered with this job. I'm not going to say anything about individual votes, you're welcome to claim whatever about your own votes.

A few votes cast, every story has at least one vote. Half the stories are within one good vote of the lead.

 

This voting part is tougher than writing.

 

This is supposed to be the easy version. You don't have to choose between stories, just judge each individually. Imagine if you had to choose just one.

 

Hell I haven't even read as story yet and you are all arguing over how to vote.

Are you still logged in? I had one where it wouldn't let me comment, I needed to log in again.

 

The not letting me comment happened when I was putting the voting instructions in all the story threads. I suspect it's anti spam attempt. The rate you've been commenting, you could have the same problem.

Like I said, logging in again made it work.

If that doesn't work, you could post your comments here, or PM then to me and I'll post them to the thread.

 

After the first flurry of voting, I haven't seen anymore today. I hope someone else is thinking of voting.

 

I certainly will be, but I will read all the stories first. Even though they are all by nature short there are a lot of them to get through, it'll take a while.

 

Yes maybe it was spamming but why let me post here and on the other story's? Maybe my comments are bad enough to be spam!
Anyway it let me do it now.
