At a castle, someone in Holland...circa 1764...

As I stood among the many, patiently awaiting the arrival, I hopelessly compared myself to the competition. Despair quickly set in. Compared to the others, I was nothing special. I looked around and saw their ruffles and flourishes and wonderfully crafted half swirled hues that brazenly begged for attention. I looked at the results of all the preening and was more than a bit jealous. A slight breeze arose, sending warm air passing by.

Swaying back and forth a bit, I felt a bit sorry for myself as my subtle pastel coverings were a mere shadow of what many considered to be the top shelf. No one is gonna' mistake me for a First Prize, I thought dimly.

Off in the distance there was a slight buzz of activity. I strained to see, but of course the others were taller so I really had no choice but to wait and wonder.

When he arrived there was no fanfare, no announcements, no noise save for some faint waves.

It was interesting to see him inspecting, moving to and fro among the tender, young ones, getting so close that I wondered what conspiratorial communication might be taking place. Probably looking over at me and laughing, I thought miserably. I mean, sure, my two lips were seductively colored, but comparatively, I was no rose.

As I watched him move about, I just wanted to shrivel up and die, so low was my self-esteem.

And then it happened.

I. Got. Noticed.

He looked at me, somewhat bug-eyed, and started moving in my direction. I tried not to look because I was sure it was just my 'magination, running away with me, but then I felt him...hovering.

With no preamble, he was upon me. I loved his masculine scent, and, oh my, I could feel him touching me, rubbing against me. Him rubbing against me enlarged my stigma, probably because of how damned hairy he was, but we dealt with it. It was fast and furious, my stickiness coating him well.

And then, quick as he was upon me, he was gone.

But, I felt sated in the knowledge that I would now be able to live on, again, and be fruitful and multiply.






This was the story of a tulip and a honeybee. My hope is that Emerson, Lake & Palmer won't cringe upon seeing how I bastardized their song lyrics!

At first I thought it was a painting. Then I figured it was some kind of plant. Maybe a bush of some sort. Other bits of the text had me confused as to what kind of plant. I decided the scene was a floral show of some sort and this particular plant was an entrant in a competition. And I felt certain the "he" was a man clipping off a flower! Haha! I was wrong. The single explanatory line at the end revealed the truth. Brilliant work.

 

I love how you described the Tulip. It resembles a lot of woman; shy, have a low esteem, demure, always thinking they aren't good enough for anyone, and always failing to see how beautiful they truly are.

I thought I'd already reviewed this, maybe I was going to and got side tracked.

It's a very smooth excellently written piece as usual Horse. I like @Norton X thought it was someone cutting the flowers. But at first I thought it was a beetle or insect of some sort an ant maybe but not a bee. I don't know why!

I loved the tale being from both points of view the way the tulip spoke of the bee was brilliant.

I loved the title and the story. Seemingly effortless as ever but any way thanks for the effort Luvs xx

 

I was far off I think you did a good job at writing the story, and err-- I've already said what I think of how you write in the other thread.

As a cornerstone of the XNXX story community it is flattering that you would not only take the time to submit a non-entry, let alone one so well thought out and heartwarming. Time and again in this competition we have heard that there is little story, and just description. However as your excellent example showed, a full and complete story doesn't need pages of lead-in to contain volumes of content. I myself find two full and rich images of what happened in this work. The first as presented, and then when revealed a whole other set of imagery that "I" could envision being narrated along with an animation. Frankly I find the later version, with the Tulip more endearing.
