  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

A couple years ago a politician got into trouble when his war on Canada geese went a little too far.
He lived on a lake where they had become pests. He mowed down some with his lawn mower.
When caught he changed his tactics.
The next bunch he put in his grill and turned on the gas.
Cause him a lot of trouble.

When I was much younger, we had a huge flock land on my uncle's pond one night. It was opening day of deer season, and I was getting up early to head out anyway when I heard them. I didn't have any idea how many there were, but I figured I'd take a look and see if I could bag a couple. I got a shotgun and crept up on the pond, and when I got a look, that 12-acre pond was wall-to-wall geese. I got off three shots, the opening shot, one as they started taking off away from me, and one after they took off and looped back overhead. I brought down 21 geese, chasing the wounded down and finishing them off with a .22 rifle. We had goose for Thanksgiving, goose for Christmas, for New Years, all the way up until the 4th of July, and even gave several away. I missed opening day of deer season but made up for it later. Our freezer was well stocked for a while.

I was going to ask before I read this post but I guess you answered my question as to whether or not they taste good.

They're pretty good when cooked up right, I like the flavor, just not every holiday, LOL.

    Wow ...

We had a case here in Edmonton some years ago when a homeless man caught one and cooked it up just to feed himself. That didn't go over to well with Fish and Wildlife but they can be real pests and they know they are protected under law and play that to the hilt lol.

The lawnmower one was a TAD extreme ...

I agree, I found it greasy too.

Never ate a Canada Goose though.

Shooter heard about some rafters who spotted a wounded Canadian Goose while they were floating the Salt river in Arizona.
They stopped and pursued the poor thing into an old car shell, finally cornered it, and dispatched it with a whack on the head.
Loaded up again and proceeded down to their campsite a few miles downstream with visions of cooked goose dancing in their minds.
Unfortunately, as they entered a rapid the goose turned out to have not been so competently dispatched.
And expressed it's extreme displeasure at being whacked on the head.
The crew, facing serious bodily injury, was forced to choose between confronting a seriously pissed off goose in close quarters or a swim through a rocky rapid.
Long story short, the crew spent the night around the first aid kit, rather than around a tasty cooked goose.
Which is how river trips often go; the best plan rarely survives first contact with the river Gods.
Or mother gooses trying to lead possible threats away from goslings.

    The moral of the story?
If it ain't yours, don't touch it.

All I know about Geese is that they fly south for the winter. I think.

The canada geese around here don't fly south in the winter. They have a good thing going and do not plan on leaving.

    Interesting story.

I found a different "moral of the story" once.

A bird flew into the window of my business and injured itself beyond repair so I took a hammer and relieved it of it's misery and when my wife at the time found out, she made me bring it home to bury it at the least instead of just throwing it in the trash.

Moral of the story ... I didn't have cable TV for 3 days after that burial LOL.

You mean the pond didn't freeze and the geese flew away with it.
