AL man accidentally kills girlfriend while playing with gun on trampoline with infant

An Alabama man has been charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of his girlfriend earlier this month.

Raphiel Quinnie, of Mobile, was playing on a trampoline July 14 with Selena Edwards and the couple’s infant daughter when the gun accidentally fired, the man’s mother told The Press-Register.

“I believe this really was a misunderstanding and a bad accident,” said Jackie Quinnie. “I know they were playing over the gun … and he did not know the bullet was still in the chamber.”

The 19-year-old Edwards was found dead from a single gunshot wound, police said, and Quinnie’s mother described her death as a “freak accident.”
“He wouldn’t hurt her like that; they were in love,” Jackie Quinnie said. “It’s killing him.”

Police said the gun involved in the shooting was stolen, and Raphiel Quinnie has also been charged with second-degree receiving stolen property.

ND woman accidentally shoots herself while trying to scare off intruder

A North Dakota woman accidentally shot herself last week while trying to scare away an intruder.

Kristina Moberg found a man trying to pry open the screen door to her Grafton home about 11 a.m. July 15, while her husband was at work, reported KVLY-TV.

She grabbed a gun in the home in an attempt to scare away the burglar, but it accidentally fired into some woods outside.

“(Moberg) was startled when the round went off and accidentally discharged a second round, which pierced her lower leg,” said Assistant Police Chief Anthony Dumas, of Grafton police.

Investigators believe the second bullet may have ricocheted before striking Moberg in the leg.

“Not very good aim, but she’s in good condition,” said her husband, Kenny Moberg, laughing.

Police have not arrested the attempted burglar, but they have identified a person of interest.

Guns are essential for protection against thug cops that are out of control all over the country

Pennsylvania man shot by police during warrant service for parking tickets "He pulled the car out of the garage and all I heard were gunshots."

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA — A man may never walk again after he was shot in his driveway by a constable who had showed up to his home regarding unpaid parking tickets.

Kevin McCullers, 38, was just about to make a trip to go buy some morning doughnuts when his life changed forever. Around 7:30 a.m. on July 17th, McCullers got into his car, opened his garage door, and put his car into reverse gear. As he backed out of the driveway, his girlfriend abruptly heard gunshots ring out.

Two strange men were outside, and one had just shot Mr. McCullers while in the driver’s seat of his car.

“They never knocked on the door! No nothing! I just heard the gunshots! He pulled the car out of the garage and all I heard were gunshots,” Hafeezah Muhammad told NBC 10 Philadelphia. She was inside the house during the attack.

The shooter turned out to be a Pennsylvania State Constable, performing an early morning warrant service over unpaid parking tickets. The unnamed constable claimed that he feared for his life by Mr. McCullers backing out of his driveway — so he opened fire.

“For someone to get shot, on the way to Dunkin’ Donuts, unarmed, for parking tickets? For tickets?! Its insane,” said Ms. Muhammad.

Mr. McCullers was shot in the back. The bullet struck his spine, and he is now paralyzed from the waist down. He may never regain the ability to walk.

The shooter has been allowed to remain anonymous. There has been no word on any discipline or criminal charges that he may face, if any.

The only thing partisan about this post is how it is characterized. There is nothing in the C&P that is partisan in anyway.

Pregnant FL woman dies after being shot in head by friend showing off his gun collection

A Brookesville, Florida, woman, who was five months pregnant, has died after accidentally being shot in the head Saturday night while visiting a friend who was showing off his gun collection, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Katherine Lynn Hoover, 25, died early Sunday morning after being airlifted to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Doctors removed her unborn child Saturday night in an effort to save him, but were unable to do so.

According to authorities, Hoover and her husband, Carson, were visiting William DeHayes at his home early Saturday evening. As DeHayes showed off his gun collection, a .22 caliber revolver fired and the bullet struck Katherine Hoover in the head.

After being rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to Bayonet Point, Hoover was pronounced dead at 3AM Sunday morning.

Her brother, Gary Bryan, said the entire family was in shock.

“What has happened is truly a tragic shock,” he said. “My sister was a wonderful and special woman. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She had just gotten married and was getting herself established.”

“She was truly a special person, inside and out,” said her sister, Kayleigh Bryan. “We were blessed to have the time that we had with her. She’s going to be missed very much.”

Police are investigating the shooting but say that it appears to have been accident. Records show that the gun owner, DeHayes, is 35 years-old and has no criminal record.

Hoover is survived by her husband, whom she married in December, and her 6-year-old son, Nicholas.
