Stories in forums or stories section?

Hello I was wondering there are so many stoties in this sex story part of the forym. On this same site there's a stories.xnxx.com. what's the difference? I mean are thry similar or do people post in forums for special reason? I myself write stories and they're all in the stories sectuin (see my signature ).

Stories section is not for the weak of heart... nor for those who haven't sharpened up for the chops to really write...

The forum is typically friendlier. And a more nurturing place for people to start writing.

The story site is where people from all over come to post and read and mostly skim through stories, mostly quickly written. Plus, stories you post there can be stolen, voted down and are used as free material by the site administrators.

The story forum, on the other hand, is a community of writers who post their stories for the reviews, comments and critique of other members of the community. The forum also contains discussions and hosts writing contests to help community members hone their skills.

The forum provides an instant way to post stories and receive encouraging feedback. You can also generally meet other writers here and get feedback from them.

The sex stories side gets many more reads (in the thousands) and has a simple rating system, but takes longer to post (it has to go through a verification process). Most comments are anonymous, so you don't get to really interact with your readers.

I find that when I'm experimenting with new ideas, I post to the forums, and when they form into full stories, I post them on the stories side.

I also posted my entire "Alexis" series in small chunks here in the forums, and when each "season" was complete, I posted them altogether in one long story on the stories side.

So both sides have their advantages and disadvantages. It just depends on what you think will give you the bigger benefit as a writer. Do you want more exposure, or do you want to interact with your readers? etc.

Okay that clears it up. So basically the forum is like giving a story a page at a time for review and sering how it goes. Then the rest follows. I remember reading somewhere that Dickens used to write only a rpisode or so ahead of what was published and gauged reader reactions when continuing. I guess it's something like that. Plus I guess it will tell one if there are similar stories around or if one's going too wacky (like one of mine was rated 19.6%!). Otherwisr one finds the flaws after publishing and honestly I'm not too sure editing is allowed.

But I wonder, isn't it hard to read forums on handheld devices? I remember converting xnxx story pages to txt, and wading through htmk tags (br, p, center, strong, etc). A forum post will have hundreds more, one will go mad trying to survive it. Then again, I guess most people have better resources available, and I'm a writer so I'll leave the reading headaches to others. :-D

Well, I haven't caught on to the mobile craze, so I still use a good old-fashioned desktop PC. Big screen = easy read. And I think both the forums and the stories site were never particularly designed with mobile use in mind, because browsing the web on mobile devices wasn't big at the time they came to be, and they haven't been updated much since.

Xnxx really does need to catch up with the times. On the other hand, I like that it's been unchanged since I signed up 7 years ago. There's no annoying redesigns to complain about
