My guess is that until visual porn became widely available, not many people indulged in this sort of thing. It basically evolved from the necessity for porn directors to prove that the sex wasn't simulated, and for that it was necessary for the man to cum where people could see it, not inside a vagina. In early porn you mostly see guys ejaculating on the woman's stomach or on her ass...but gradually it evolved to include cumming on her breast or her face. Once that happened, the fetish floodgates were open, so to speak.

I agree with Kimiko. It seems like as time goes on, porn tries to keep it "fresh" so to speak and one-up itself. Porn itself has been around since people were having sex, but over the years what's popular and featured has changed. I mean, in the sixties, having a reality show with a bunch of people eating gross things and competing with each other probably wouldn't have made it on air. Today, it's the norm.

I knew what you meant. Facials only became popular today because of the visual depiction of them in porn.

Just like anal sex. Back in the early 80's I saw very little anal in porn compared to today. There were only a few female performers who did it. Now almost every porn movie has at least one anal scene and most female performers will take it up the ass. Thus...anal is a popular fetish today.
