need an opinion

Last january i ordered a jacket online coming from Germany.The package never arrived, so emails back and forth on trying to find it and she finally got tired of my ranting i guess and ahe gave me a full refund($160 u.s. dollars).

Well today i get home and in the mail i have a pink slip saying "we missed you" your package is at the post office. The tracking number is the one of the jacket..

Now, I got my refund and Germany told me its a lost pakage.
Should i contact them and tell them i got it and repay..or should i just let it be and see what happens?

i would just consider it karma. good things happen to good people. as long as that company is well off. im sure they have done forgotten about your 160 dollars.

I hate to admit it but I'd probably just leave it be. It's not very honest but it sounds like you went through a lot of trouble when it was lost in the first place, returning the refund or the jacket would be an even bigger hassle.

If you bought it from a company then I'd just forget it. They'll write it off as a loss and probably get their money back anyway.

If it's from a personal deal then i'd contact saying that it finally arrived, long overdue, caused you a lot of un-needed hassle, not as good as you expected, money in phone calls etc and offer them say $100.

You can either keep the jacket and not pay (thief), contact the firm and apologise and pay for the jacket or return the package to the firm.

I suspect you will take the first option, and every time you wear it you will be reminded of your duplicity.

Well you told them you never got it and they gave you back $160. Now you've signed a paper stating you received it. I think they could pursue this if they wanted to. They surely have provisions to handle mail fraud.

This reminds me of the time I was in a well known store. I wanted to buy two items, the x-box magazine [US: magasine] for my kiddiewinkle, and *something else that I can't remember, but it may have been a tub of Greek yogurt, I think - on offer, too*.

We went to the self-scan, and because the magaz[s]ine is age-restricted, the helper person had to come and tell the machine I was over-age (of course, I had to produce ID to confirm this!!). Anyhoo, the silly store worker must have cancelled the sale and then, when we were told we had 'an unexpected item in the packing area', back she came and scanned it away. I beeped the yogurt through and couldn't understand why I was only being charged 50p

Free magaz/s/ine? I wish I'd bought in my week's groceries ffs

It took six months for a jacket to arrive in the post?

Keep the money, keep the jacket and live your life as if it never happened. Inconvenience charges work both ways

If it's officially a 'lost package' the company has (already) been reimbursed for it's loss, if I'm not mistaken.

That reminds me of the time that I was getting my family shopping on a Saturday morning from a well know High Street supermarket (COOP). The night before there had been a power cut due to a storm in the area, so I wandered around the store picking up my groceries filling my trolley like a good husband, bacon, eggs, sausage, wine, beer, whiskey, and other stuff I can not remember but I had a good trolley full and the regular bill was about £70. I approached the checkouts to find there was one long queue, one of the manager types approached me and said because of the powercut the computer controlled tills were out of order and they were doing it by hand or estimating the cost of the trolley, he did a quick glance at my trolley and said that's about £20, I pushed the money into his hands and sped to my car where the goodies where quickly transferred to my boot before he could change his mind.

This week it's just a jacket. Next week you will be knocking old ladies over and stealing their purse.

Then you will more than likely move on to something bigger like robbing banks or perhaps even become a hired hit man.

I predict at some point you will become a cannibal and start eating the people you kill.....

So you must ask yourself. Is the jacket worth it?????
