I'd be happy to give it a go.

I'm not sure how it works either - so we can fumble around together (no pun intended)

I'm not interested in an RP, but love the idea of collaborating in something creative - bouncing ideas around and writing together.

Let me know what you think

Basically, it involves two people brainstorming their ideas. Either they start writing sections of a story with each other's input or together they collaborate on the entire story, changing it to mutually fit what the end result is supposed to be.

Having both a male and a female perspective would give your work an advantage if done correctly. The characters involved are provided with another dimension. They aren't roles being described, in this case they're actually living out their parts and reacting as the given situation allows for.

From the other cat...
Perhaps you should begin with a premise and a cast and work out from there?

First...How do you plan to carry out the work? Will it be in person or online?

Here's something to think about if you're going to be doing it online?

Will you be emailing your story back and forth? Who's going to hold onto the master copy in case a computer crashes? Are you going to talk about the story in person or on the phone or through instant messaging?

I have a friend who I co-write with with. She does most of the major editing. We first started through IM, but I soon got her using a Google Drive document I set up and things are running a lot smoother now. We can edit spelling on the go or make minor changes to wording. We can also use the Google doc when the other person is not online.

We can get between 20-30 pages in a few days if we're both in tune with the story and each other...and that's just plain text, with no special formatting, when pasted into a standard word document.

There, you can make side notes for story or character ideas, it's fast to scroll back and review what's been written or other notes.

Google Drive is also FREE for the first two Gigabytes of info/stories stored there. If you don't have a google acct, they're free to set up also. It's also cross platform compatible. If you have a Mac and your co-writer has a Windows PC, you both can still work on the same story.

This could work. A mutual starting point is easy if neither of you have co-wrote a story before.

And I have to say, people can't see that you've replied to a thread. You might want to send her a message and ask what you're doing in this thread.
