Grim, much, but that is the intent? I like war poetry, and ones that reflect the grim reality of war, and triumph of the human spirit, i see this here.

There is one being in all our lives

Their very touch seems as heavenly as an angel
Their eyes seem to contain the world itself
Their voice is as calming as a summer breeze
Their kiss can pause Time for a few moments

Your Everything

Throughout all trials and Tribulations they are there
Their love for you echos to your very soul in every fiber of your being
The very reason you breathe is to see them and love them in return

It's called freedom of speech. But if you really don't like the idea of others posting their talent, in whatever form they wish, please, by all means, find another site that suits your needs.

Coming of Age

I came of age adrift in a tempest sea

The sea swells with violence around me
A dark sky chokes out the last rays of light
I am lost in a world devoid of feeling or remorse
Tides swell with rage, surrounding me

I came of age adrift in a tempest sea

Once a naive young boy basked in the sun
Not a care in the world or trouble touched him
Ignorant was he of the hell to come
Stirring on the horizon , slowly taking shape

I came of age adrift in a tempest sea

As the storm builds and approaches
The boys perceptions widen, shift, and alter
Awakened his mind becomes to the looming danger
He is too late to avoid getting swept up in the Torrent

I came of age adrift in a tempest sea

A grizzled colder man is all that remains
The once fragile youth has been swallowed up by reality
His mind and perception has been warped and twisted
This never ending storm, this tempest sea thinks it has won
As determined as ever I assure you, It hasn't..............

Update number 2, Trying some rhyme

The Glade

I journeyed to the emerald glade,
to shelter myself in the shade.,
while I danced in my dreams,
to shelter myself the glade my means.
I awoke to find the moon on high,
that’s when I heard a gentle lullaby

Enchanted was I by this sirens song,
my mind aware that somethings wrong,
for a hint of sorrow the song did hide,
I vowed to find her, the song my guide.

Scurried did I through the underbrush,
when silence fell, I made a rush,
as fast as I ran through the wood,
my heart full of sorrow for twas no good,

For that brief respite I was a peace,
I stood upon a rock alone in my grief.
I glared up at the cold emotionless sky,
For left to wander alone was I .

Many years have passed since that day,
Every night I bow my head and pray.
To meet my siren from the glade,
and travel back to that day in the shade,
So I may drink in her beautiful song,
to take with me when I pass on.

Hail to Caesar, Savior of all!

I beheld the man so strong and proud
Enraptured was the plebeian crowd

For their savior came to save the day
Both sword and shield to keep at bay

The wolves that scheme, Lie, and plot
Their corpses left in sun to rot

In Pluto's realm they now do keep
Their bodies in the eternal sleep

Hail to Caesar, Champion of Rome

Much their was to restore
Broken and torn by the war

Our Glorious leader to Return to Glory
To continue Rome's never ending story

The beacon of hope to all who dwell
In mother Rome's fractured shell

Repairing, Rebuilding, Greater than before
Through Caesar's guidance our city restored

Hail to Caesar, Dictator of Rome

All was not well with the senate so dear
A tyrant's will they did so fear

One choice was left, though very Dire
For the good of all Caesar must Expire

With sharpened blades they did end his life
He lived by the sword, but died by the knife

Hail Caesar, Forever Remembered

The skies in Rome grow dark indeed
Legions will clash, men will bleed

War will rage, brother against brother
In our hearts their will never be another

There is one beauty beyond compare
Her voice sweet as an angel’s song
Eyes like bottomless pools of sapphires

How do you mend a Shattered Dream?

Broken and battered the pieces lie
Each fragment gleams in the light
Razor edge that cut unsuspectingly
Agony that fills your mind

Once glorious in design
Carefully crafted and constructed
Each day closer to completion
Ravishing in its splendor

Suddenly the floor gives way
Tumbling,turning and whirling
You struggle and resist
Refusal to quit and fail
Bedrock hits like the hammer of God

Scooping up the fragments
Fighting the tears
Screaming at the sky
Looking onward to the ominous, uncertain Horizon
