I love my tattoos. They're all blurred out in my pics for obvious reasons but I got them all in areas hidden when in a professional environment. Also I don't want any of them showing when I'm finally in my wedding dress. So girls are hot with sleeves, shoulders, and chest tats but it's not for me.

I am not allowed to hate tattoos.. my mom got one of the paintings I done for her (it was a water lily and two dragonflies) as a tattoo so she could carry that part of me with her everywhere and she loves to show it off.

I found stats showing the growth in violent crime within the female group, but no correlation to the fact that they may have tattoos or not.

I never said there was a growth in crime among females WITH tattoos. I said there was an increase in young girls becoming more aggressive, vulgar and violent which ran along the same timeline and growth curve of the increase in things like tattoos, rap, piercings, etc. It`s all part of a larger picture of us pushing the line farther and farther back of what is acceptable and "normal". Things which 30 years ago were limited to a small group of social outcast (Read "bad") people slowly became the norm and along with them came the attitude and personality. I can see I am in the extreme minority on this but a lot of that has to do with many people are of the age where they were maturing as this was happening so to them it just seems "normal" and they don't see the problem. They weren't there to see how society was (Or have forgotten) so the contrast is lost on them. Shame really.

Girls as a general rule, with or without tattoos have become considerably more vulger and agressive over the decades. I regularly observe the upper middle class girls in my community behaving rather baddly. There was a time when girls generaly didnt display certain things in public like spitting up hunks of phlegm on the sidewalk, cursing loudly, speaking disrespectfuly of others in a confrontational way. Things that only the trailer trash girls did when I was in school have become more and more common. But I dont think tattoos have anything at all to do with it. I just dont think anybody is bothering to teach youngsters how to behave in an acceptable manner in public, male or female. Kids just arent little angels anymore...not that they ever realy were but at least in the past people knew how to show discression and could behave with something resembling class when the situation required it. Classy behavior has become something of an anachronism.

Then there is the question which came first, the criminal record or the tattoos?

As for the main question, I like piercings and tattoos. Gauges I don't care for, or excessive amounts of piercings on someone's face (which I've seen first hand).
I have an anklet tattoo and a tongue piercing. I'm also one of the least sexually active people among my friends, who also have tatts and piercings. But what's highly amusing.. my friends are chill and we swear a lot less than the clean cut preppy girls we went to school with. We do have our violent times, but we've not been in any physical altercations. =)
My take on why the violence and such has gone up.. it's more accepted/unavoidable. More parents aren't around to parent their kids, peers egg each other on in school to be violent, violence is all over in the movies and is generally glorified, etc.

I do not think the body is a canvas. Time changes and with that tastes. I have seen many people denied jobs because that ink marks in the skin. I see too many cons and almost no pro on them.

There is a reason that the tattoo removal industry is booming almost as well as the tattoo application business. That tells me that people quickly decide that the artistic expression they were hoping for started to look like a serious mistake later on. Having them done isnt cheap. Having them undone is fucking expensive, and its a choice a lot of people are making these days.

If your going to get a tattoo just make sure you take the time to think about what your going to think about it when your older and get them in a area that is easily covered by clothing for jobs. Mine are both on my upper arms so a T shirt usualy covers them.

I have been looking for over 30 years to find the perfect tattoo for me, I saw one once which was a dormer window with an anatomically perfect heart behind it, placed over where the heart is, but it would have cost me far to much money to have done at that time, now I can justify having it done I cannot find the damned thing.
I may get a family tree of my kids and grandkids names put on my left shoulder and the Royal Artillery cypher on my right, or not.

As for tats on ladies they are the same as tats on men, some work and are good others fail and look like trash, especially the home made ones, I can remember seeing a guy with home done tats of Mr Men on his forearms, a real cause of embarrassment.

I am with you on disliking tattoos. Most people I know have at least one tattoo from the second they turned 18. Some I understand, such as memorial ones, and I have no disrespect for those who have tattoos. I just personally don't find tattoos and piercings as sexy as the rest of my generation.

That explains a LOT of the bad tattoos that are out there. No reputable tattoo artist or piercer would take a customer who is drunk.

I got my first body piercings almost 25 years ago (long before they became trendy), and my first tattoos about 10 years ago. None of them were spur of the moment decisions, I was long past the college age rebellion phase of my life, and none of them are visible with business casual clothing on. I don't regret any of them, and can see myself getting more tattoos in the future.

Tattoos on women are the same as on men. Some look good, some look hot, some look like the tattoo artist was either blind drunk, or just blind.

My ex didnt have one tattoo on her, and i found that to be one of the most sexiest things(next to her ass).
But I wouldnt mind nabin' a girl all tatted up, Probably look like more of a couple then i did with my last gf. I like Piercings, just depends were they are. Nipple piercings get in the way, Lip Loops do the same. Im a very passionate kisser and i dont enjoy havin that metal object in the way of my biting their lip or etc. same with earrings or gauges, I also hear gauges get stinky..
