Default formatting help

i posted two stories that i just copy and pasted out of my email because they were stories i had written and sent to a friend. when i pasted them into the posting section, they looked like they were spaced and outlined in paragraph form correctly. however, when i posted them, they're spaced out all weird and have no formatting done to them at all and because of it, i'm getting several negative reviews on the stories. how can i stop this from happening and make sure it's formatted correctly?

Don't copy and paste your stories from an email.

Try looking at how they copy from your source to the text box on this site. Use the forum to preview your text and then copy/paste that to the stories site.

From what I can see here, the comments receive a WYSIWIG formatting for the most part. Does that carry over into the stories posting?

What I have seen over there apparently allows almost no normal formatting.

Please note that I have not submitted any stories on the story site so I do not have any other details to offer at this time - only questions.

Default From bitter experience --

I can tell you that darthel is right -- virtually no formatting is possible on the Sex Stories Site.

You cannot indent, and the site software will not read an indent you have in your manuscript. The only way to break up paragraphs is to double space -- hit the enter key twice at the end of a paragraph.

Italics and boldface in your document will not be picked up. Special characters, such as accents, umlauts, and anything else that is not a letter, number, or simple English punctuation mark, will turn to garbage. For instance, the accent on the "e" in "cafe" makes the word appear as something like this: caf^@(+3e.

Note: What you see on your screen after you submit DOES NOT reflect what will actually appear on the site. Don't worry about the weirdness with quotation marks and other quirks.

Best bet: Format your story as an MSWord document or similar widely recognized word processor document. Copy and paste it -- don't rely on a link to the cloud or something.

Also, it is not possible to include links on the Sex Stories Site. If you type one, is will appear as text, not a clickable item.

Welcome, and good luck!

At one time, bold lettering and italics were available for our use. That is what I'm basing my judgments on. I haven't tried to use special characters or formatting in my stories so what do I know?

Another thing is the fact that we can't see that you've replied if all you did was quote our post.

Most formatting is BBCode which various sites have variations of same.

Firefox has a add-on I believe which formats BBCode also.

Last thing is always preview before submitting.

One caution here in the forum with posting; when you review your story after it is posted, you only have ten minutes to go back and make any fixes needed. Thus do as all the others recommend, preview first.
