The End of Uncensored Story Venues?

One of the rules at XNXX is to not show the URLs of competitors.

But I have a question for the other authors, about a giant uncensored story site that has been gradually disappearing for the past couple weeks and now appears to be GONE.

Since it appears to be gone, it is no longer a competitor, right? So I will sort of spell it out for all of you, because I know that many of the authors on this board also post there:

I occasionally lurk the place to make sure none of my stuff is being plagiarized, because it is the biggest story site on the Web, and it is also one of the last uncensored sites on the Web.

It is gone.

Or appears to be.

Can anyone else corroborate this? I know that many of the XNXX authors who used to post here before censoring went into place here, also posted there. I never did, but the site had lots of "collection" sub-sites, and I would lurk them just to make sure my stuff wasn't being bundled into collections by genre without my permission.

Some of you are still at least lurking here.

If you are lurking, chime in. What happened to this place? Is it gone?

If so, what does it mean? It is, quite literally, one of the last places on the Web where "free speech" still has meaning. Is it really gone?

So, answering my own question, some of it still appears to be accessible. Going into my browser history, I was still able to hit some of the "collections."

But large parts of the site appear to be dead, including the site's search facility and its home page.

Looks like it is dead or dying. Through Google, most of the pages raise an "Error 403."

It does appear to be gone.

I don't think we've ever been free. It is an illusion of perception. Saying that, the internet is being brutally and mercilessly raped of its freedom by the bullies in our government(s).

On the plus side, google was slapped on the wrist for tracking people's activities on the web. It was on the news for literally fifteen seconds. So maybe there is hope.

I found it. It is responding slowly. Perhaps there is a software problem there.

I'm hardly an expert, but it sounds like a server issue to me.

Are you actually seeing an absence of links where they used to be, or is it just links returning 404 errors?

ASSTR has been flaky on and off since I've been posting my stories there. Sometimes it slows down to the point where half the pages time out. But give it a couple of days and it will probably be just fine again.

Never attribute to malice what could otherwise be explained by insufficient server resources. Or something like that.

I was just there. The website seems to be working fine.

If you want to see if your stories are being plagiarized, do internet searches for various sentences.

When you post fiction or poetry on the internet you should include something like this in it:

This should be sufficient if you want feedback. If you want to publish your story for money it should probably be copyrighted with the Library of Congress.
