I'm tired of prudish actresses who want to play porn stars or strippers, but they seem to be ignorant of the fact that porn stars and strippers take their clothes off. Natalie Portman ruined Closer and there are other examples. In any case, since mainstream actresses don't wanna strip, let porn stars have a shot at it.

Let's turn the movie clock to the early 1980's, when movie actresses (i.e. Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, et.al.) got nekkid for their roles. In the early 1980's, I averaged 75 trips to the theater a year. Last year, I went 8 times.

There have been several attempts made by porn actresses to break into "mainstream" films.Traci Lords was probably the most well known of them.She had a number of appearances in television and a couple of B movies.

One actress who is not only over rated, but she's ruined some movies that had great potential is Kirsten Dunst. In Wimbeldon, she played a tennis player having an affair with another. Halle Berry in Monster's Ball
Charlize Theron in Monster
Nicole Kidman in Cold Mountain

and so the list goes. Basically, skin to win.

I just saw her in "Girlfriend Experience"...she's really not too bad, as porn actresses go. But of course, she plays the part of a call girl, not TOO much of a stretch.

All I can say, though, is that if I were looking for someone to play Linda Lovelace, I would have gotten a younger Marisa Tomei...she would have been perfect.
