Look I do not have a beef with anyone and really could care less about what happens and who goes and who stays. But I do know the owner of a board has the right to do anything they darn well please without anyone's permission.

I also know from other message boards where people get banned and others huff and puff and threaten to leave is that if anything the message board gets instantly better and the people that do leave are soon forgotten on a day to day basis even by their most loyal supporters.

The worse thing message boards can become for an owner and a majority who actually read it and post is where some of the users think they are actually important to the message board and cliques emerge. They simply drive off or scare off other people from joining and participating. People find themselves too invested in the identity they have created and in sheer delusional think the number of posts below their avatar indicates the amount of wisdom and importance they have.

To be honest if I owned this board I would ban everyone regardless of what side they came down on the Deidre debate who could not show class and civility during all this as a warning to others. I would not want these people be the representatives of the board and gladly trade them for the unknown that will appear in hours or days to fill the void.

I would also recommend therapy for anyone who gets so worked up about a message board or equates a cyber friend who you shared some PM and Emails from time to time from those of real life friends and family.
