The rest of the world has sided with the Palestinians and against Israel, the US and the West. And they also put their money were there mouth is and told the US to stick their $10 million up your ass.

$10 million, where did you get that number a, The U.S. funds 22%+/-, which is equal to $80 million,,,,,oh,,I get it,,if it's something you want to fund, it's ''ONLY'' $10 million, when you want to stop it, it's $18 trillion....$60 million was scheduled to be sent in November

The U.S. rejoined UNESCO in 2002, after having left the organization 19 years earlier. They didn't miss us when we weren't members.

Well you just missed it again. All you're displayed is your own prejudices and the UN is saying they are no longer going to put up with them.

That's 61% Ace. So that's sure most of the nations other than the US and a few of our allies.

I read $10 Million but if you say its $80 or $60 or $18 Trillion that's even better. Because its says the UN can't be bought for even those amounts of money.

And as commentator just pointed out the US is in trouble when it can make a threat like pulling their funding and UNESCO tells us to go right ahead.

He is also revealing Palestine ultimate strategy which is to join and be recognized as a state by almost every international organization in the world until it is impossible not to recognize Palestine as an independent state.

That's some pretty smart moves I think.

Opps it looks like Israel is trying to provoke the Palestinians into making some kinds of attacks on them. There's just something about more Israeli building in Jerusalem that brings out the violence in the Palestinians.

Israel orders new building in East Jerusalem

Quote:
Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, has ordered the building of 2,000 new housing units for Israelis, mainly in illegally occupied East Jerusalem, an area Palestinians claim as the capital of their future state.

Netanyahu said in a statement on Tuesday that the new construction would include settlements that he believed would be part of Israel in a future peace accord. Israeli settlements built on occupied Palestinian land are considered illegal under international law.

Israel also decided on Tuesday to freeze the transfer of tax revenues owed to the Palestinian Authority, as a punitive measure after Palestine was granted full membership of UNESCO, the United Nations' culture and heritage agency, media reports said.

Opps I'd say; "here we go again," but it wouldn't be quite right because while it may be another Gazs Flotilla its not the same old players.

Activists seek safe passage for Gaza aid ships

Quote:
Irish activists supporting a new bid to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip urged their government on Thursday to seek Israeli assurances that a new aid flotilla would be allowed free passage.

The two vessels, the Irish Saoirse (meaning Freedom) and the Canadian Tahrir (Liberation in Arabic) which are carrying 27 people, are south-west of Cyprus and expect to reach Gaza by Friday, the activists told a press conference in Dublin.

Claudia Saba, a spokeswoman for the Irish Ship to Gaza group, said the activists had called on the Irish foreign ministry to tell Israel not to impede the vessels.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/11/0...aza-aid-ships/

I think I need some Irish/UK decoding here.

Israel to 'prevent' aid ships reaching Gaza

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2011/11/201111335159309793.html

I wonder how this one is going to come out? I'm not sure the Israelis can get away with killing Irish citizens.

And one of the most heartbreaking, complex, confusing, frustrating, volatile, and deadly conflicts I've ever seen in my life. And that's after studying it and following it for more than 40 years.

Just recently when I'd thought I had it figured out again Al Jazeera ran "The Palestinian Papers," and I was stunned all over again.

You remain our village or at least public idiot.

I used the UserCP function (in case anyone else wants to) to turn all the pretty pictures off. But I can click on any link I want and see that picture. The reason I never see yours is because you do not count.

The US still does not recognize Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel. And yet our Supreme court is going to decide from here whether its legal or not. What a total farce and little wonder some people want to bomb us.

Now I think this is more potentially damaging to Israel than most the other things going on right now because it shows a very dramatic decline in the respect and confidence of Netanyahu by what are supposed to be two of Israel's best allies.

Also I get a little suspicious when ever there's an "open mic" kind of controversy because there sure seems to be a lot of them and it looks like world leaders would wise up and be more careful.

That is unless they are trying to convey something they might not be able to say in a speech.

Here's the first reaction I've seen about the "open mic" statement and not surprisingly it comes from John McCain who I personally believe sacrificed all credibility the day he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Quote:
Sen. John McCain said Tuesday that derogatory “hot mic” comments from President Barack Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are “indicative of the attitude and policies that this administration has had towards Israel.”

“I happen to be a great admirer of Prime Minister Netanyahu,” McCain said on Fox and Friends. “I’ve known him for years, and Israel is under more pressure and probably in more danger than they’ve been since the ’67 war and that kind of comment is not only not helpful, but indicative of some of the policies towards Israel that this administration has been part of.”

Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories...#ixzz1d89wdMIg

And ironically I think he says basically the same thing I said. The comments illustrate the very low opinion both Sarkozy and Obama have of Netanyahu.

Which would be funny if that same Netanyahu was not trying to talk his government into bombing Iran. That's insanity as well as dishonesty and I believe would be the end of Israel as we know it.

Well, let's be real. The Israelis expect this attitude from Les Francais. France has never really been a close friend of Israel--especially considering it's close ties to Arab countries like Syria and Lebanon...

Now more so than before and its looking like Israel might actually try something that stupid even though many people point out it would not stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons or even significantly slow them down without major carnage and little gains because their facilities are bomb hardened and many are located in heavily populated areas.

You actually have a point there I should concede now that you mention it. No, I guess France hasn't been on the best friends list with Israel.

How about instead of President Obama being any kind of coward you just remain the raving fool you really are squawking brainwashed snippets.

U.S. Policy

Only two countries have embassies in Jerusalem — Costa Rica and El Salvador. Of the 184 nations with which America has diplomatic relations, Israel is the only one where the United States does not recognize the capital or have its embassy located in that city. The U.S. embassy, like most others, is in Tel Aviv, 40 miles from Jerusalem. The United States maintains a consulate in east Jerusalem that deals with Palestinians in the territories and works independently of the embassy, reporting directly to Washington. While Congress has voted to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, successive Presidents, the final arbiters of the nation's foreign policy, have refused to do so.

Actually I know it seems like safety in numbers but I really do laugh every time I see what close allies you and Clarise are. You know kind of like you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep.

It says a lot about Clarise.

The Iranians are pushing back hard against the UN report that claims there is evidence of Iran trying to develop secular weapons.

Quote:
Iran will not retreat "an iota" from its nuclear programme and the world is being misled by claims that it is seeking nuclear weapons, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the country's president, has said.

Ahmadinejad was speaking on Wednesday in response to a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN nuclear watchdog, which alleged that Iran was close to developing a nuclear warhead.
He strongly criticised the IAEA for siding with "absurd" US allegations.
"This nation won't retreat one iota from the path it is going," he told thousands of people who had gathered in Shahr-e-Kord, central Iran, reiterating that the country was pursuing nuclear research only for peaceful purposes.

And while I'm not saying we can believe Ahmadinejad he makes a pretty good point here.

Quote:
"The Iranian nation is wise. It won't build two bombs against 20,000 [nuclear] bombs you have," he said in comments apparently directed at the West and others.

On the other hand, however, responding to threats from Israel to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities one of Iran's Generals pointed out Iran does not need nuclear weapons, as they can strike nuclear sites in Israel

Quote:

Also on Wednesday, Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri, Iran's deputy military chief, warned Israel that any attack on Iran's nuclear sites by that country would result in the "destruction" of Israel.

Jazayeri said the Israeli nuclear site of Dimona was "the most accessible" target, and that "our response would not be limited to the Middle East", according to a television interview.

"The smallest action by Israel [against Iran] and we will see its destruction," he said.

Jazayeri's comments came after a warning from Shimon Peres, the Israeli president, that an attack on Iran was becoming "more and more likely".

That sounds like a pretty serious situation right now but I think the reality may lay in an entirely different headline.

Russia Firmly Opposes New Sanctions On Iran

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_290013.html

I don't think Israel or the US wants to take on Russia and I think that's why they are firmly opposing new sanctions on Iran. Its their way of saying they are Iran's ally should any unfortunate attacks take place.

It appears to me Israel is trapped in the most intense political pressure cooker I've ever seen and are now being squeezed on all sides. I just hope they can take the pressure.

I'm a little behind on the "let's bomb Iran" crusade but I guess if it had happened I'd have heard about that.

In the meantime though it sounds like tensions between Israelis and Palestinians continue to escalate.

I doubt that Israel will actually bomb Iran but I'm pretty sure it will be the biggest mistake in the history of Israel if they do.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards dare Israel to attack

Quote:
Iran dares Israel to attack, because the retaliation would send the Jewish state to “the dustbin of history,” a senior Revolutionary Guards commander said, according to the Fars news agencyMonday.
“Our greatest wish is that they commit such a mistake,” the chief of the Guards’ aerospatial division, Amir-Ali Hadjizadeh, was quoted as saying.

“For some time there has been a hidden energy we hope to expend to consign the enemies of Islam forever to the dustbin of history,” he said.

“Our ballistic (missile) capacity never ceases to grow,” he added.
The comments were one of the most belligerent reactions yet by an Iranian official to speculation that Israel was considering launching air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

The threat — raised recently in Israeli media reports, and by Israeli President Shimon Peres – comes amid rising international tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme.

A November 8 report by the UN nuclear watchdog, theInternational Atomic Energy Agency, said intelligence strongly suggested Iran was researching nuclear weapons.

Iran has denied its nuclear programme has any military dimension.
Government officials have said they are willing to cooperate with the IAEA, while Iranian military officers have talked up their country’s ability to counter-attack if strikes are launched.

I've got no idea where but someone some place must have blinked. Yesterday we had rockets and artillery exchanges and today Israel releases Palestinian funds.

Israel to release frozen Palestinian funds
PM says money owed to PA to be freed as Palestinians appeared to have suspended "unilateral moves" for UN recognition.

Quote:
Israel has announced that it will release tens of millions of dollars of tax funds owed to the Palestinians, ending a standoff that the Palestinians say has caused grave damage to their fragile economy.

The move came following heavy pressure by the US, UN and Europe on Israel to free the money and was taken despite the opposition of the Israeli Foreign minister Avigdor Liberman.
Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley, reporting from Jerusalem, said that Lieberman had earlier threatened to bring down the government over the decision to release the money.
"The feel the unity talks between Hamas and Fatah are not going anywhere and the Palestinians have not perused their efforts to get full recognition at the United Nations. So after intense debate they decided to release the money."
Israel collects the tax funds for the Palestinians and transfers the money each month, but froze this month's transfer to punish the Palestinians for their efforts to win UN recognition of their independence.
The Israeli decision came after the Palestinians were accepted to the UN cultural agency UNESCO - part of a broader effort for admission as a full member state at the UN.
Israel accuses the Palestinians of trying to bypass peace talks through the campaign. It says that a Palestinian state can be established only through a negotiated peace deal.
Since the UNESCO victory, the Palestinian campaign at the UN has stalled due to deadlock in the Security Council, which must approve full membership.
Palestinian officials have not yet decided how to proceed.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said he decided to release the money because the Palestinians appear to have suspended their "unilateral moves".
It said the decision would be "reassessed" if the Palestinians resume these steps.

I don't know why Panetta said that, he can't sway or influence Israel.

Obama has said more than that to them and they blew him off as well.

The 2008 Israeli invasion of the Gaza strip did not occur in a vacuum. Before you condemn Israel for conducting an unprovoked attack on Hamas, perhaps you might want to look at the incidents that lead to the attack.

I organized my information by dates so it would be easier for you to follow but I got all my information and cut and pasted it from Wikipedia so you can verify it for accuracy.

The Gaza War, known as Operation Cast Lead in Israel and as the Gaza Massacre in the Arab world, was a three-week bombing and invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israel, and hundreds of rocket attacks on Israel by the Palestinians, which started on December 27, 2008. Israel's stated aim was to stop rocket fire into Israel and arms import into the Gaza strip. Israeli forces attacked police stations and other Hamas government buildings in the opening assault, striking in the densely populated cities of Gaza, Khan Younis and Rafah.

Background</SPAN>
November 4 incident</SPAN>

On November 4, 2008, Israel launched a military strike on Hamas to destroy what Israel said was a tunnel on the Gaza-Israel border dug by militants to infiltrate into Israel and abduct soldiers. According to Israel, the raid was not a violation of the ceasefire, but a legitimate step to remove an immediate threat.

A gunfight broke out, in which one Hamas fighter was killed. Hamas responded with a barrage of mortar and rocket fire at Israeli troops. Three Israeli air strikes on Hamas mortar and rocket positions then killed five Hamas fighters. Hamas said it would take revenge for what it perceived as an act of Israeli aggression that had violated the truce. Hamas launched 35 rockets into southern Israel in what was described by Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum as a "response to Israel's massive breach of the truce.

The Intensity of rocket attacks targeted at Israeli cities near Gaza sharply increased during November 2008, approaching pre-truce levels. Clashes also took place along the border, during which 11 Palestinian militants were killed.. In the period between November 4 incident and mid-December, more than 200 Qassam rockets and mortar shells landed in the western Negev region of Israel.

On December 14, a Hamas delegation in Cairo proposed that Hamas was prepared to stop all rocket attacks against Israel if the Israelis would open up and not be allowed to close or reduce commercial traffic through the Gaza border crossings and pledge not to launch attacks in Gaza. On the same day, Hamas officials told that earlier reports, quoting Khaled Meshaal as saying there would be no renewal of the truce, were inaccurate.

On December 18, a day before the truce officially expired, Hamas declared the end of the cease-fire. More than 20 rockets were launched from Gaza into southern Israel on that day.

On December 19, Hamas refused to enter talks to renew the six-month truce and Hamas spokesman announced that it would not extend the cease-fire.

December 21. Diskin said he thought Hamas was "interested in continuing the truce, but wants to improve its terms... Three Qassam rockets fired from the northern Gaza Strip landed in Israel.

On December 22, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that his country will not accept the ongoing rocket fire from the Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip.

On December 23, senior Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar said that Hamas was willing to renew the cease-fire under the original terms. Despite the temporary ceasefire declared by the armed Palestinian factions, eight Qassam rockets and eight mortar shells hit Israeli Negev on that day. Also that day, Israeli Defense Forces killed three Palestinian militants, caught planting explosives on the border.

On December 24, an Israeli air strike hit a group of militants in Gaza Strip. An Israeli military spokesman said that the militants had fired mortars at Israel. Palestinian medics said that one Hamas militant was killed in the strike and two other Palestinians were wounded, including a cameraman from Hamas's television station. On that day, Hamas military wing issued a statement saying that it began an operation code-named "Operation Oil Stain". 87 Palestinian mortar shells, Katyusha and Qassam rockets hit the Negev. Al-Qassa Brigades said they are going to expand the "Oil Stain" to put thousands of Israelis "under fire". Hamas said they are ready for the war:

On December 25, after Israel had "wrapped up preparations for a broad offensive," Israeli Prime MinisterEhud Olmert delivered a final warning in an interview with the Arabic language satellite channel al-Arabiya. He said "I am telling them now, it may be the last minute, I'm telling them stop it. We are stronger." Another 6 Qassams landed in southern Israel.

------------------------------

It takes two to tango and Hamas provoked the attacks by it's many hostile acts. Furthermore, they put their fighters and rocket and mortar launchers in heavily populated areas of the city thereby assuring that they would sustain major civilian casualties that they could them exploit for propaganda purposes.

If the United States shared a border with a country where a political party that was dedicated in its charter to the destruction of the United States won elections, and if rockets were fired from that country into the United States, we would not negotiate with that country, we would annihilate that country. We would kill everything but the rats and the cockroaches.

The forbearance of the Israelis in the face of intolerable provocations by sub human maniacs is incomprehensible to me.

Israelis don't have a problem with nudity. However, the Arabs would probably call for her head (if it was a woman). Talk about too much ankle!
