OK, time to brighten your day.

I was on a jury here in Auckland at the Manukau District Court,courtroom 8.

Its a little courtroom, no public gallery, no press, just the defendant and his minder, two court officials, her honour the judge and we the jury.

She was a twelve year old maori girl, the last thing they want is attention they are very much a group type, so that failed. The defendent wouldn't testify ,she was questioned, she was in another room so it was by CCTV and I remember two things, one was when the prosecutor asked her what this guy was like before he started on her and she said "he was like my bestest uncle": the other was watching her as she talked, she wore shorts or a skirt knee length and she kept wiping her hands along the top of her skirt, just pushing away then back up and pushing away and back and so on.

So we retired just before lunch on day two. I was foreperson, and I asked for a general discussion, anyone have anything they want to raise? No. OK so on item one, this was the seven year old one, unlawful sexual connection, everyone who thinks Mr... is guilty please raise your hands.
Eleven hands shot up, no looking around just bang up they went. So did mine.
Eight charges later and it took about ten minutes and we had him convicted on all nine charges.

And miss out on lunch? Don't think so, so I delayed and we had lunch, club sandwhiches, sausage rolls and a cheese cake and fruit juice if I recall.

SoI reconvened after and I said, hey these are serious charges ,this guy will do jail time does anyone want to reconsider. No one did,just trying to givre him a fair trial that's all. We had a sort of United Nations there, There was me, middle class white mid fifties, another white guy, in his sixties, a Maori grandmother, a Maori grandfather, two island ladies, one island man, a Japanese lady, a chilean, an Iranian , a real diverse range of back grounds. Everyone of us believed her.

And this Japanese lady, Ajuko I think her name was, she was very quiet and after the vote I turned to her and said,"Ajuko, you've been very quiet, what do you think."
And the meek little lamb's face went real hard and she said in one of those cold voices "He did it." She just felt so strongly about it.

And once the judge had had her lunch we went back and I got to say guilty nine times and the prisoner, he was now the prisoner, before he was the accused, was taken away.

The Lady Detective in charge of the case was allowed in court for the verdict and after I had done my bit I looked over at her and she had a big smile on her face.

Don't know what he got ,I could have applied to go to the sentencing but didn't, but he would have done time and I'm sure this wasn't his first involvement with the judicial process.

So there ya go, there is justice sometimes.

I can't thank you enough for your post. It took a big bite out of my bitterness. I needed it. I've needed it for twenty years. I will never forget it and it will always make me feel better. I really appreciate it. Thank you.

Personally I am against censorship in any form as long as nobody is being physically harmed in the real world, fantasy harms none or literature itself would be banned.

Sexual abuse of a child in the real world is illegal & should be since we raise our children deliberately to be immature in todays society. As far as age of consent goes, I find it interesting that until just before the turn of the 20th century the age of consent in many places was averaging 10. Isn't it interesting how much more immature todays children are? At the time of the westward expansion in the USA the average age of marriage was under 16 years old. Marriages between those 13-14 was far from uncommon. Somehow we have created several generations of children who are becoming less mature with each generation that passes. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

For those who enjoy reading the underage stories & are getting irritated by the "Holier than Thou" attitudes from those others enjoying stories about other illegal activities like bestiality/rape/incest[adult]/snuff while heaping abuse on readers of underage material you can return the favor.

Start doing what they are doing, run through all the stories You don't like & start filing complaints with the moderators. If all the readers of underage stories, and there are many going by some of the ratings & read counts, do so it could be fun to see what ends up being banned next. Don't worry about being ratted out, the mods don't say who sent the complaints to them so those who prefer, justifiably, to keep your heads down & out of the limelight should be safe.

To be quite honest, I dislike this entire thread. After reading the title, thought I'd have a gander. And everyone seems so offensive and angry about it.

It's like a violent video-game in my mind, if they enjoy it, let them have their fantasy, finish up, and move on. If they have no outlet, in a year, they'll end up doing something in real life. People blame the outlets people have, but it's better than real life. And it's just a turn-on, people have some weird ones. Does that mean I'll bash their entire point of view? No. They can enjoy what they enjoy. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I'm not angry. I'm just confused. I went off on a rant against censorship, so a few people told me to get on topic and support the ban. So then I did that, and now all the Aussies are pissed for some reason. I can't win.

I think it depends on how the story is written. some stories can be written so beautifully but technically be classed as "pedophile"

when i was 14 my favorite pass time would be reading these =P gotta love the kristen archives
but this was probably because i have always loved older women. i loved the stories about younger girls with 30yo or so women. when i was 16 my girlfriend of a year and a half was 36.
there was this one story.. i havent been able to find it since.. but it was about a girl.. 12yo or so... with a woman who would be about 50. when i think about.. it is a bit gross i guess.. 12 years is too young.. but the story was lovely! it was almost as long as a novel and really really well written, about how they started to care for eachother, and being unsure etc..
not this "i was cleaning my back yard one day, and my neighbours kid was playing in the garden in her biki with a hose pipe, it was a real turn on watching that 12, so i envited her over, and started to molest her" etc etc.
