Perhaps it's the audio distortion you get when you hear your own voice recorded, sometimes different than what you think your voice sounds like.

Wow really? I have no connection with that area, but I am close to the border. I think my accent gets more Northern every year, some day it will catch me up - though from what you say I think it just overshot

What is a "fun modulator"? Bear in Mind I am on a Mac so I don't have any periphery to record and alter my voice. I do not believe they make them for Mac's. Dunno. My comp is over 6 years old so they might now. Haven't checked.
