Take your time! Lots of fore play! Go at her pace almost let her take control. Use a good lube specific for anal play (there are some with relaxents and warming solutions). Build up. Well, I tried anal and didn't like it, so understand that just because she agrees to try it doesn't mean she'll like it, regardless of all the preparing you do.

I would make sure she is cleaned out with an enema (you can get one called Fleet at the drug store) or use a laxative called Magnesium Citrate. It's a clear liquid and comes in flavors like lemon and cherry. People use it to clean out their colon before getting a colonoscopy. It TOTALLY cleans you out. Yes, definitely start small - small toy or finger. In the interest of cleanliness you might want to wear a rubber glove. A couple of additions that I would include:

I prefer starting off with using my fingers, rather than a toy. It's a lot more intimate, and it gives you (the one on the giving end of the anal) much better feedback on what the bottom's butthole is doing as you play with it.

For someone just starting off with anal, use lots of lube and spend time just massaging and teasing her butthole with a finger tip, don't even try inserting the fingertip until she's sure she's ready for it. REALLY? I've really been wanting to try that...we've come close but no success. I should probably stop thinking about it, cause it'll be months till I see him, but does it really work?

Do you mean about it working with the vaginal fisting? It works better with butt play, but it does help with vaginal fisting as well. The trick is to find the right balance between pushing enough that it helps relax the muscles when you stop pushing, without pushing too hard, which will just tense things up down there.
