Cookie is yet to hit her rebelious teens, but when 1964-68 happens, I think she wiil become wild and a freedom warrior. If not the poster child of the new america. Abusrd and oppressed but compassionate.

Who knowse, she is a fictional character inspired by a true person and events. She also may have died from complications of one of her abused times, or got raped and beaten to death, shot because she agreed with colored and abused saviors. Lost her way and was on drugs and one the street as a prostitute. Or she just died of natural causes. Or she maybe still alive and is a nun or a child welfare worker.
Most of this is light years away from ELP's demented mind and the 1963 story.

I live with a real life version of Cookie. If she has survived 9 years of the crap and maintained the viewpoint that she would not hit her brother to avoid pain herself but still was able to keep her mother's ring on her own hand, she will not knuckle under to daddy or anybody else once she decides that she is done with his crap. The only way to beat her down at that point will be to kill her.

I feel that you (and many other readers) have a fine grasp on the character of Cookie. I may take this character in any direction now because it is well established who she is.

Please have patience with me. I am just trying to get my bearings on "Cookie" before I write any more. Many episodes still exist in my head but not a word is on paper. I have been trying to mold this into a story but I think my mistake is that this is NOT a story. It is a collection of vignettes of her life and each chapter is yet another vignette. If you are interested in reading each of these vignettes than please continue to follow "Cookie". If you want a "story" (with beginning and ending)... that may take quite a while to come to.

I may be impatient for the vignettes to appear but will wait with bated breath until you finish the next installment.
This is one of the more intense stories on the board; I would rather see a well done (not that you would do anything less) story following the method which you have been using so far than to see one which was rushed to a conclusion.

I like the writing method right now. I don't know why but I just do. Plus having to have to wait will just add to my current anxiety. I'm not trying to rush you but me and my girlfriend really like this story that we can't get enough of it.

Your style with Cookie is what has sooooo many waiting for more. In my mind I see the storyline as if someone ha taken Cookie's diary rippe the pages and three them in the air. Then someone else found a select few othose pages and is allowing us a small glimpse into Cookie's life. The only problem I have is that the Glimpses have become more intermittent as we have progressed.

Then again, who am I to talk. I haven't been able to put anything on paper in some time.

I will get back to it soon. I was working on the story "Digger" which is on the forum now.

I don't want to continue until I have just the right situation for Cookie to be in. I don't want to seem repetitive with these chapters.

First, here is the ring Uncle Bryce gave his daughter Kate when the real ring could not be found....

And here is the ring that Auntie Nell had saved and given to Cookie...

ONE problem might be that ELP has already written a story which takes place after Cookie escapes her father's domination and he might be having difficulties tying the vignettes into that endgame. He could also be unsatisfied with where that endgame left him and wanting to go beyond it to a different resolution.
