Check out some of these averages so far this season and there is talk about Hamilton getting a sick contract like the 240 million dollar one Pujols got.

You have to admit that Josh Hamilton has some impressive numbers here.
Well he just hit 9 homers in a week or is it 10 now, the guy could be worth 240 over 5 years.

Why ... did he find a cure for cancer ???

Contracts like that bury teams in the long run. Especially when attendance and patience is thin in MLB currently in some cities.

Toronto beat Minnesota 2-1 Saturday to go to 19-15.

Washington beat the Reds 2-1 as well to go to 21-12.

When you talk about players that are standing out this season you definitely need to throw Joey Votto's name in there. He had an incredible day yesterday against Washington with 6 RBI's and 2 HR's for the Red's in a 9-6 win.

Josh Hamilton is in there as well with his HR streak, leading the MLB. Brett Lawrie for Toronto deserves an honorable mention as well with his play.

Any players that stand out for anyone else ???

PS ... Minnesota beat Toronto 4-3 yesterday to put TO at 19-16. Romero (4-1) gets the loss.

Texas kicked the Angel's asses 13-6 to go to 23-12.

So the Rangers are doing well? I've been a bit out of touch so forgive me if it sounds like a dumb question.

Yes they are doing well currently and are 23-12 and it's not a dumb question.

Toronto starts another series with TB tonight and is currently 2 games back of them in the standings and needs this series to keep pace. We aren't even a 1/4 way into the season yet but every game counts right !!!

Texas hosts KC tonight and the Royals are on a 2 game win streak but Texas will probably pad their stats against the Royals tonight.

And if I can say ... a Rangers jersey has never looked so good as when you wear it.

Other than that the best a Rangers jersey looks is when someone lays one down in a mud puddle for a lady to walk over, lol.

Oh look ... Toronto got their asses handed to them by TB tonight in a 7-1 loss to put them at 19-17.

I can't believe that KC beat Texas 3-1 tonight.

Washington beat the Padre's thought 8-5 to go to 22-13. (only NL team I like btw)

Toronto drops another one to TB tonight, losing 4-3 to go to 19-18 and this game had it's share of poor umpiring and ejections. As the umpire was leaving the field after the game a fan threw a full cup of beer at the umpire ... my question there is wtf was he doing with a full beer so late in the game, fucking rookies, lol.

I see big changes in t he AL's west and central, but I think Rangers will chart toppers all the way or at least wild cards. But I am using guess work to a degree as I am yet to get proficient at what makes a team good or bad according to what personnel the draft in and out.

Texas is a solid team in a small division which adds to them being able to make it out of that division in the post season. The AL east is the power division for the most part, with the exception of maybe Toronto. The biggest change I would like to see in that division is to have TO move up in the standings.

Fuckin' eh ... Toronto is laying the smackdown on the fucking Yankees right now with 2 homers and a 5-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning. Plenty of time to fuck that up yet though.

Texas Schedule:

Indians, Royals, Rays, Mariners, Athletics and Angels all of September. Angels, Royals, Red Sox, Tigers, Yankees, Blue Jays, Twins, Orioles and Rays all of August. Athletics, White Sox, Twins, Mariners, Angels, Red Sox all of July. Angels, Athletics, Giants, D-Backs, Astros, Padres, Rockies, Tigers all of June.

Don't see anything harder there than Toronto has plus the NL teams Texas plays mostly suck.

TO has the Phillies and Nationals to offset.

8-1 Toronto in the bottom of the 7th ... I wouldn't have called that against the fucking Yankees but it's a good sign that they can play strong teams.

Toronto is doing well in their game with 4 home runs so far.
HR: TOR: Arencibia (4) , Encarnacion (13) , Bautista (9) , Johnson, K 8 .

No homers from Josh Hamilton of Texas yet but Beltre has one as Texas leads Oakland 2-1 in the 4th inning.

No worries sweety, I follow Texas and Toronto mostly so you will be the first to know ... especially because of the mental image you just gave me with the braless jumping.

8-1 Toronto is a final against the fucking Yankees to go to 20-18.

Edit: oh goodie ... Texas is up 4-1 now.

Toronto takes another one over the fucking Yankees 4-1 last night to go to 21-18 and is actually ahead of NY in the AL east right now.

Texas lost to the A's 5-4 last night in 10 innings. Moreland had 2 HR's for Texas in a losing cause.

Hell yeah Toronto. Take down them Damn Yankee's.

I have not kept up with much of the other teams but I do know the Dodgers are kicking ass right now with a 25-13 record and they got a three game series with the Cardinals this weekend who are also playing good ball with a record of 22-16.

It will be a good series.

I would be happy just seeing them make the post-season this year, it's been a century since they were in the playoffs ... literally (1993).

The last 2 times they made the playoffs ... they won the World Series both times.

Blue Jays’ Brett Lawrie drops suspension appeal

Quote:
Brett Lawrie will not appeal his suspension because everybody had made peace with the ruling, and that the organization saw little chance that the penalty would be shortened, Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said on Thursday. “After last night’s game, myself, John [Farrell] and Brett just talked over things and obviously this is Brett’s choice, Brett’s decision. It’s his right to appeal,” Anthopoulos said. “It’s his suspension. But upon further review with more information, more being able to objectively look at things, without having any guarantees that the suspension was going to be reduced at any point in time and knowing … that this continues to be a distracting topic, Brett felt like he had made his peace. He apologized to Bill Miller, certainly, addressed everything.”
Major League Baseball issued the suspension one day after the third baseman, enraged over a called third strike, slammed his helmet to the ground during an argument with umpire Bill Miller. The helmet bounced up and struck Miller in the right hip.
“Joe Torre even came out and said he was well aware and everybody understood that Brett didn’t intentionally throw his helmet [at Miller]. So, everybody was on the page. Collectively, it seemed like it was the right thing to do for everybody in the organization,” Anthopoulos added.
Lawrie said on Thursday that he just wanted to put the ordeal behind him.
“We didn’t know if they were going to reduce the games or whatnot, so I think it’s easy enough just to suck this one up, and take these four games and just sort of move down the road and get this behind me.”
Lawrie said he apologized to Miller.
“It was good,” Lawrie said. “I mean, I just walked in there and said ‘I apologize, I never meant to hit you — and I would never do that.’”
Yan Gomes, who was called up to replace Las Vegas-bound Adam Lind, will start at third base on Thursday night for the Blue Jays. Omar Visquel is also capable of playing the position. Edwin Encarnacion, who has a history of playing the position, will not play there, instead operating as the designated hitter or first baseman.
Gomes’ presence factored into Lawrie dropping the appeal. Anthopoulos said that there was no consideration given to waiting until the Jays were done with the Yankees.
“I don’t think that there’s ever good timing with a suspension,” Anthopoulos said. “All of the games are important, whether it’s the Yankees or the Mets. We’re going to need to win as many games as we can. I think the [right] timing is to put this behind us as soon as we can.”

It's not only players and managers that get suspended in the Big's:

MLB suspends umpire Bob Davidson one game

The Associated Press May 18, 2012 – 4:26 PM ET

Davidson also received a one-game suspension for what Major League Baseball called "repeated violations" in how umpires are supposed to handle situations.

PHILADELPHIA —Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has been suspended one game for his nose-to-nose argument with plate umpire Bob Davidson during a game on Tuesday night.
Davidson also received a one-game suspension for what Major League Baseball called “repeated violations” in how umpires are supposed to handle situations.
Manuel was ejected in the eighth inning of a 4-3, 10-inning win over Houston. He thought a ball had been foul tipped and got into an argument with Davidson that escalated into profanities. He’ll serve the suspension on Friday night when the Phillies host the Boston Red Sox.
Davidson also will serve his suspension on Friday, missing the Minnesota Twins’ interleague game at Milwaukee. A minor league call-up umpire will take his place.

So where does this leave Texas?

They are still atop of their division with a 24-15 record, 4.0 games ahead of second place Oakland with a 20-19 record. They play Houston (17-21) tonight.

Now back to that jumping without a bra thing, lol.

Toronto went crazy on the Mets last night with a 14-5 beating and now sits at 22-18. Gomes homered as did Arencibia with 2 HR's as well as Davis also with 2 HR's.

Atlanta helped the Jays by beating TB (24-16) 5-3 but the Reds lost to the fucking Yankees [21-18] 4-0.

Texas (25-15) beat Houston 4-1 and Beltre got his 8th HR in the game.

Don't know why but when you type an 8 and follow it with a ) it comes out as a smiley face instead.

Toronto beat the Mets again today 2-0 to go to 23-18 (nice). The Reds helped out this time beating the fucking Yankees (21-19) 6-5 to help the Jays in the standings.

Texas (25-15) leads the Astros 4-0 in the 3rd inning. Murphy has homered for Texas.

I need some help from Washington against Baltimore (26-14) but they aren't doing that as the Orioles are currently leading 4-0 in the 3rd inning and currently lead the AL east.

Not a common thing in baseball.

That is why they don't let asian players play left or right field ... every time they go into the corners, they want to open up a convenience store.

The Mets finally took one from the Jays today in a 6-5 win over Toronto to keep them at 23-19. Bautista hit his 11th homer of the season in a losing cause.

The fucking Yankees lost as well to the Reds 5-2 so TO keeps pace with them at least.

Texas beat Houston 6-1 today as well to go to 26-16. Murphy and Lowrie homered for Texas.

Washington beat Baltimore 9-3 to keep the Orioles at 27-15 in the AL east 4.0 games ahead of Toronto and 2.0 games ahead of TB.

No tequila. Yuck.

Jumping is ok, bets are not. Am I making sense or no? I think my age must be beginning to show. I've been forgetting a lot lately...

Tomorrow has some division games that can help teams make up ground in the standings. Toronto plays TB as well as Baltimore playing Boston.

I can't believe I actually want the Red Sox to win ... for TO's sake though, if the Jays can also win.

I remember those series. I was going for the Jays both series. I did not want the Braves or the Phillies to win those years.

The Dodgers swept the 3 game series vs the Cardinals this weekend with fours players injured. Their record now is 28-13.

Cards v Dodgers - 5-6
Cards v Dodgers - 0-6
