I guess it may be the same, but I feel that we have a much greater imagination when it comes to sex.

Well part of the expresssion was explaining that women are more likely than guys to be bi sexual. They cited a study that found women were more likely to be stimulated by pictures of both men and women, where as guys were more one way or the other. Guys have this macho thing going on. They're not 'allowed' to say another man is attractive without being branded gay. And nothing is more hurtfult to them than that (I assume).

Aside from the whole nature/nurture biological thing I suspect it is more as Morgana said. It is more acceptable for a woman to experiment with another woman than a man to do the same, at least in most of the USA. The reduced stigma if it happens makes it an easier thing to try, and once tried it may trigger the natural impulses that were unknown/dormant/denied thus causing a woman to become a lesbian.

There is also the fact that, from just the clinical standpoint, it is much easier and less potentially painful or traumatizing. I know I am straight because I did experiment, but I never tried bottom because at the end of the day that just was too painful an image to get past. I can relax pretty damn well, but for me that level is coma or better!

To go back to the snarky and make it less so, there is also the fact that many young men do have a less than ideal idea of how sex is supposed to be, and may well give a bad impression for a young ladies first time. Follow that up with a confident woman who knows what she is about, and it may very well seem that she is not really missing anything she needs by switching teams.
