New to site, question on submission rules

Hi. I've recently decided to get into writing erotica, most of it based on my limited experiences to date and I know there is a large audience for sexual stories of a more taboo nature. My question is quite simple: I'm wishing to write about my own sexual discovery and maturity but my story starts when I was 12 as far as masturbation goes and 14-18 as it relates to sex with a partner (whom was nearly 20 years my senior).

Going by the thread (sorry I cannot post links) labeled "Age limit in the Stories Forum - Jan 24, 2012 update":

It was a mistake to set a minimum age limit. Please be advised that pedo stories are not allowed here. While a writer is free to write what he or she wishes, we are free remove the stories, ban, etc., what we judge not to be in compliance. Although XNXX is a free speech website, everyone has the responsibility regarding laws. Think twice before posting.

And yes, true-life stories that happened to the author can be posted.

While my past is much more along the lines of hebephilia and ephebophilia and fits within the last clause, I wanted to make sure what I was going to post is acceptable within this site. The story(s) are about my relationship with a thirty-something man while I was in my late middle and high school years.

thanks all. "crass" it will not be. In fact it probably will bore some folks to tears because it's not a non-stop sex story a la "Penthouse Letters". It's more about my sexual discovery/awakening and my first real relationship with a man who just happened to be 20 years my senior.

I'm only now putting things together so nothing to share yet. I love erotica and I love well written personal stories but I've never written anything beyond the standard college and high school essay / thesis fare so I'm a tad bit nervous about putting something like this out there in case it absolutely sucks.

When the time gets closer I'll keep this thread up to speed and maybe share a chapter or two with those who are open to at least making sure I'm not a complete loser when it comes to writing.

I can give you only anecdotal advice.

Shortly after the "no pedo story" rule took effect, I posted a story involving a man and his 3 daughters, the youngest of which is 12. I posted it deliberately as a test case to see if it would get deleted, and it was not.

Of course, my story is probably fictional (read it if you want to know what "probably" means in this case), while yours is true, so I don't know whether that would make a difference.

Likely, you'll be just fine.

I am sure you will do fine, my first story on here granted not personal, had a really, and I mean really long build up to the first sex scene. I have read many stories on here that do that too, I personaly enjoy a nice long build up, to get to know the characters and feel for them.

My sex life which is good, but pretty boring, so I don't share any personal stories here, everything I write is all made up.

I hope to see you write what you can, no one here is a professional, but a lot of writers like helping each other out. So if you ever need someone to edit/proofread what you have written don't be afraid to ask. A lot of great writers here love to do that for others.

Judging from the quality of your posts in this thread, it seems as though you will make the effort to post well-written work.

If you're worried about the Joe Dirty's of the world, for God's sake don't advertise your character's age! Even fictional diary entries from a girl on the eve of her eighteenth birthday are forbidden in his world.

Keep it tasteful (yes, I know we're on a porn site) and write your story the way your write your posts.

If you're posting to the Sex Stories Site (http://stories.xnxx.com/), make use of the theme tags to help readers find/avoid your work, depending on their tastes.

Write your story! I wrote something along the same lines, my book TSB started out with the main character discovering himself then went on to talk about his sexual expirences with girls his age when he was a young teen.

My story has not only not been removed but well received by many fans. I say write what you want and let the work speak for itself and everything will work out ok.

TIP. Be sure you proof in edit mode before publishing it. I composed a story in a word editor then pasted into forum edit mode then published without proofing thinking the paste from the editor worked. I then realized that the text lost all of its formatting and lost a paragraph and I have not been able to get it unlocked so I can fix it. Proof read it thoughly in edit mode before publishing it. I want to commend Katie for her earnestness. For many of us, writers and readers alike, a preference for revealed character and surprise is more rewarding than explicit sexual activity, in story-telling.

Since Katie admits to trepidation, perhaps starting short before going to your real intended personal project is smart. That way, you can gain feedback and confidence about your compositional skills.

Wade into erotica before you dive. Try something short and arresting, maybe more spontaneous than your main project.

For example, take an incident of accidental flashing that scared you. What might happen to you if you melted in front of a warm and loving reception?
Play with how you would feel; let yourself experience the alternative scenarios: what might you enjoy having happen to you?

It is tough to go from memoir and diary to a fun story. You leave out a lot of tantalizing personal meaning (often unexplored, often not well-understood yet), and detail. Instead, concentrate on events and the people who make them happen in a meaningful plot-worthy sequence.

Of course, the arc of your personal story can become more clear in the process. And the form it might take become clearer as well.
