ive changed my menu for tonight to meatloaf smothered in cheese and tomato paste with home grown and mashed potatos, fresh green beans and a beef based bullion gravy

I just laid out my home made venison sausage for tomarrow. I'll probably put it in a slow cooker in the morning and add my home made BBQ sauce in the afternoon. I eat a lot a red meat.

For me, last night was the quiche tonight is the lasagna. Oh, and I also pickled some zucchini. All three used zucchini since I am rapidly being buried in the green bastards!

Theres a way to get 5lbs free. I don't know if its still going on though. I'll PM you the web address if you're interested. It just takes a couple weeks to get to your house.

I have like 2 pounds of rock fish fillets in the freezer, and a couple marinade recipes bookmarked. Just need gas for the grill, and a veg/side dish.

No Thanks. If I don't hunt it or raise it myself I get it from my local butcher because I know the farmers he gets the meat from.

Understandable. We don't really have a local butcher to get anything from, so its either grocery store or drive 20-30-40 minutes in any direction to get to a butcher.

I do most of my own butchering but I don't touch hogs either I used to but I stopped raising them and don't hunt them. I also don't eat enough to make it worth while. I already have 2 large freezer chests I keep deer,elk,fish and beef in. I'm about to start canning some vegetables soon.

most of the meat is donated so it benifits the poor
these annimals are dangerous and breeding like rats

so killing them is humane

and the meat is good if you dont touch the outer hide before you touch the meat
the hide is infested with bacteria

Yeah I've heard that. I knew they were mean though I used to have 7 boars and 9 sows. They were great waste disposals they'll eat anything even other pigs.

Damn, That thing could do some damage the biggest hog I had was maybe a 1/4 of that size and weighed 952lbs. If we had hogs up here I'd be hunting them too. I had a guy tell me my 10mm's are good for hog hunting I think I'd rather have a rifle though with a pistol back up.

There is no way that only weighed 600lbs it would have to be all fat. I had a 13 year old hempshire boar that wieghed in at over 900lb when I got rid of him and he wasen't even half that size.
