Please review the comments in the thread started by Daddycums, regarding recent trolling. We are a group of writers that actually care about people's opinions, and attempt to give them not only a feel good story, but in some part, literature. Most of us have been subject to some very nasty trolling. In my case, to the point that I am convinced that I am being watched as I participate in different forums.

We respectfully request that a review of the voting and commenting procedures. There must be some way to keep the integrity of the voting and track comments. All we ask is that you consider our requests.

Well, to say the least, it is very important that you do your proof reading very carefully.
After your story gets validated, then you are welcome to add comments in the comment section. You have to do this by accessing your story from the story page and not the page where you see all your stories listed. You know, after you login you see that list? From there all comments can be seen, but you cannot add comments.

You cannot change the story after it's up, and you cannot do anything to the comments added by you or anyone.

Now, the way it is supposed to work, is if you want a story deleted so you can repost a correction, you have to PM the admin. This worked for me the first time I tried it and then never again. I only tried the one admin. It is possible there are other admins who are more responsive.

I hope you will write anyway, but want you to have all the details up front.

I had posted 5 stories and they were all accepted but now when I log into my profile it says no stories posted, but when I look up my name in the Authors list it still says I posted 5 stories.

What is happening?

Me, too. Perhaps Lemark is doing something to the stories site at the momemt. Hopefully they'll magically reappear.

Not all of my comments are gone, but all on some stories and some on other stories!
Yikes. Has anyone PM'ed the admin?

They are making changes to the site, so there is always the risk of problems. But, a good admin always has a plan to put things back.

Not just comments, but all but one of my stories has disappeared. I'm just hoping it's a glitch and will soon be fixed. Actually, I hope it's a temporary side-effect of the changes to the site that a lot of authors are anticipating, and that it's a sign that those changes will happen soon.

One other note: It appears that the stories aren't missing, just the links from the authors' pages. I can get to my latest stories from the lists on the front page, even though they don't show up on my author's page. That's good news because it means they at least haven't vanished from the database.

Since I said what you quoted, this message was posted on the provided link by the admin. That sounds like some very positive news for the site and authors!

There was a mysql issue yesterday, that's why some stories and comment disappeared. But the server is fixed now.
I'm still working on new features on stories.xnxx.com, and all will be ready this week.
I would like to apologize to everyone who didn't get an answer from me. I'm full of work and problems every day, and it's very hard for me to take enough time to answer all PM/emails. In few days, a new system will be online to easily deal with your requests to delete/edit stories, with a single click... and I hope I will be more available...

No. You have to write the story on your box in whatever word processor or notepad app you have. Then when it is completely finished and proofread, then copy and paste on to the story site. If you have fomatting, like bold, underline or italics, make sure you use the html codes for that in your original text. i.e. use this bracket [ to start, then i for italics, b for bold and u for underline. Then use this ] to close the start of the format. No spaces. Don't forget to end your formatting with [/ then i,b or u and then the close bracket. ]

Hope that helps. Sorry you lost all that typing, but unless you are a master with the keyboard and don't make mistakes, you are better off having it in something with spell check and plenty of time to reread.

You can write the first draft in a word processor, but in the end I always convert it to HTML before revising and cleaning up the formatting. I prefer HTML because it allows formatting but is also easy to manipulate, unlike most word processor formats. I strip out the billions of tags that most word processors like to add in the conversion, and get it nice and clean.

Once it's clean, it's trivial to run a couple of search-replace to change the "<" to "[" and ">" to "]" (and get rid of the paragraph tags and line breaks), which you can then copy into the edit window here. Yes, it's a lot of work, but it's rewarding in the end to have a nice, clean, polished story.

No, that's not what I meant. No spaces only refers to what goes between the open and close [

Just write it how you want it to look. The only problems come with the bold, underline and italics. You don't have to tell the nature of your posting. You simply want to know how you can copy and paste text from your box to a web form. If you need help with the software on your Mac, I don't know, but I imagine a word processor is a word processor. Where have you gotten snagged?

What is a genius bar?

Posting a story is as simple as copy and paste. Don't worry about all the formatting, because unless it is in HTML, any bold, italic or underlined text will be changed to regular text.

I decided the best way to do this was learn it myself, novel idea. I wrote the story on text file, now to paste it says full URL address......is that XNXX.COM, at least its now written in my machine. Now part 2....paste

Here is what I am assuming. That you are going here: http://stories.xnxx.com/
And then you click on New Story (you are logged in of course)
Then you will enter your intro, tittle, genre and themes. Then in the big box below that, you paste your text from your computer. That's it!

Please note, the voting and commenting is turned off until the admin turns it back on. So, if you were hoping for feed back through comments and to have people vote on your story, you better wait for that to be turned on.

Should be instant. Make sure you have the text copied into the clip board, or whatever Apple calls it.

Sorry I've never MAC'ed, but hope you figure it out. On windows it's as simple as high-lighting the text, hit ctrl-c or right click-copy and it's copied to the clipboard. Then in the story box, ctrl-v or right click-paste. The stored text shows up.

Ms ShadowsSoul, you picked a very unfortunate time to submit your 1st story. Sadly, the story site is in a state of limbo while updated modifications are being made. Hopefully, it will be back up and running soon.
