I'll second the endoresment of the Von Armand stories. I've been a fan for awhile. The sex with your sister in the Ashley stories isn't my thing (I find the whole idea a bit disturbing) but the writing is so good that I guess I just ignore that part. I'll have to check out some of the other authors listed above...

I don't know about rhino skin, for me I read the comments and if someone has a legitimate problem with my story I consider what their saying (sometimes their complaint was something I put in intentionally and already have plans to work on). If all their doing is mouthing off about me or making generalizations about the story I ignore them because I figure their just mouthing off.

I was amazed at a comment left by another author who publishes on the site. He has something like 351 stories, mostly about a five minute read and mostly variations on a theme. I have bothered to read a few of his works, but thought "no comment" was the way to go.

His vitriolic gush, suggested that I write for writings sake alone and was not very supportive in the least. I couldn't help thinking that the comment was some kind of jealousy going on or fear that he might get toppled from his lofty perch. But, if writers are going to rubbish each other, then the reader is given carte blanche to do the same.

I do not profess to be the best writer on here, hell, a long way from it. I tell stories, pure and simple, some people like them and some don't. Would be a boring place if there were no room for uniqueness. As a writer, I support other authors if I can. Nothing wrong with constructive critisism, it helps us to develop, evolve and become an even better story teller. Trashing someone's work is just crass, but in the case of fbailey, is just downright bizare.

I find it very disturbing and disappointing that fbailey would trash your work. In the messages that we have passed back and forth, he has always impressed me as a decent person. Remember, the number of stories is not the deciding factor - the quality is. Love your work and wish you were still writing. I guess I discovered you too late.

I can't think why he would have left such a message. It is possible that someone used his handle. Most of the authors on here are supportive and a thread such as this just goes to demonstrate ecactly that.

PS, I have enjoyed phrenetic Ice's work as well as the author. For pure stroke stuff, scouting4girls is hard to beat and shaggybob5 constructs some very good stories that carry a very good average.

El Hanes is worth a read. has a couple of series and recommend Maeghan Wrist series.

i believe it is possible to type anyname into the username box for leaving an 'anonymous' comment when someone is not logged in. so it may just have been a poser who dislikes you and fbailey

on another note, I very much agree on el hanes. just wish he would put out another story soon. also another, he's only released one two part story, but 123FakeStreet is very good.

Without encouragement, Authors will move on to other sites where they can publish their stories and get regular feed back. I publish on several sites including storiesonline. I find the feeback from there is rather more encouraging and engaging.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I have been deeply involved in the e.l. hanes stories. What an imaginative writer. A great loss to us all that he was not encouraged to continue writing on this site. Same story, different writer. Happens to too many. That's why I am trying so earnestly to encourage writers on this site to continue. Even the mediocre writers will improve and become a point of great interest to someone. If the writer quits, no improvement or interest is possible. It behooves us all to do the same.

You know, I am sort of new but I have writen two stories called Our Secret. the problem I had was not so much that there was negitive feedback, deserved or not, but that there was a suprising lack of feedback. The comments I got where good but felt that the lack of response made it difficult to keep writing.

There is no such thing as a better author. Every one of us has an imagination that is different, not better or worse, just different. There are hundreds of readers to each author and what appeals to one, is really not appreciated by the next. The reader is just as different.

Some writers have a greater lexicon than others, some are better at sentence structure and some are way better with puncuation than I am, but every author has a value and is a part of the whole that is XNXX.

I work hard enough at it and still get the green wavy lines all over the place. I think I must have forgotten the rules of English Comprehension, or never learned them in the first place. So frustrating when you write a line only to see the green promt telling you the sentence is not right and you haven't the first idea why it isn't.

TO STYXX: I feel your frustration when your computer tells you you have written something incorrectly. I use Microsoft Word and I've been told that many people remove the Office Assistant because it is so often wrong. I find the assistant very useful, but I often choose to ignore its advice.
