1. I see new authors almost daily and some have started very good stories! (I have left them encouraging comments... ON the forum).

2. I have seen some great new stories and WOULD review them if I were a better reviewer... I DID leave one review on the "story review" thread.

3. I have gotten a lot of PM's here.... though I'd rather people comment on the forum.

4. I see at least a half-dozen new posts, on the "Story Forum" alone, each day.

5. I see and send a whole bunch of PM's

6. I am working on a new story right now. I have written two since joining this site.

Don't ignore what is there.

Don't discourage... encourage and participate! HAVE FUN!

If there are so many new promising authors, why haven't you posted their names and links on this thread? Forgot?

I have tried reading the stories from some of these new ones and have been hard-pressed to withhold my impulse to puke. Some are okay, most seem to suck, some actually show promise. If you see it differently, why don't you show us? You see so much more clearly than I, enlighten me.

It's hard to have fun when the assholes are engaged in such a gratuitus attack on everything I hold dear. If that would stop, so would I.

*blushes* I wasn't scolding you don. I was trying to show the established authors here that YOU are what drew alot of people here and that they will keep coming. IMO it's merely the tracking methods here that need some sort of overhaul.

Try just looking at the story forum once in a while. I check it daily.

Being retired, I have the ability to check the forum several times a day and do so. It seems the most popular threads are re-posts of stories that have been on the site for many years. New talent?

Lately (in only the last several days) I have noticed the very old posts at the top of the page. New members are looking through the forum and commenting on older stories... bringing them to the top of the page where they get commented on again.

I hate to comment on these stories (though some are quite good) because some of the writers are long gone.

I commented on one of them yesterday and mentioned that it was written in November. I did check and see the author was logged on day before yesterday.

Friend Don, quite a few readers must care because your story is doing well on the front page with 55+ thousand hits! I believe this is the highest read count of any contest story.

I have a new story halfway done, but I'm having a problem with having the motivation to continue. I may be one of those writers you mentioned who feel despair with the state of affairs at the story site. I might release my half-story (it has a beginning, middle, and end) this week on the forum site if I can edit it. Here I can post the picture which was my inspiration.

As I close, I'll mention that I'm quite busy PM-flirting with a sexy, young, 21 yr old lady (yes she knows I'm pushing 60). At her last posting she was halfway out of a thong bikini, so I'd better go check on her instead of hanging out here with old fellas like you!

I just read a story that appeared in the "New Stories" section by an author who calls herself Cly. Wow! I'm really not much of a Dungeons and Dragons type person, but, as you (hopefully) have seen, I do occasionally enjoy a little play in the supernatural world (shameless plug for my latest story).

Cly's latest post, "The Rat and the Dragon," appears to be part 1 of a series, one I am anxious to see her complete. The story is quite well written, but for the casual reader who just wants a good jerk-off story, it may be too long.

HOWEVER, the length of the story is absolutely necessary, since a large amount of background information is required as Cly invites us to her fantasy world (one with several moons -- nice touch!) filled with elves, dragons, vampires, giants, and other magical creatures. The supernatural, which plays heavily in this tale, is completely believable, due to the expert way in which the author crafts her story.

Altogether, an excellent read.

Now, I must go study the rest of her collection.

Just checked out your stories - well, the first one and the last one to check on style/improvement, etc. I must tell you that your story ideas are bloody marvelous.

What I see lacking, if you care to hear, is proof read, proof read, proof read, and some more of the same. With a little care and attention to detail, you could have some real winners on your hands.

For now, they do provide something very interesting to think about, but with the changes that I think should be made, they would provide a reason for wet dreams.

I hope I have not upset you, but I did want to be honest.

Keep trying and I'll keep reading.

Did that and here goes:

Your first story appears to have fallen into the usual trap and that is a 'wall of type'. Very difficult to read. Almost a superhuman effort is required.

The last story (before the contest) you eliminated the wall of type. I think your grammar, spelling, story telling, etc. are superb. You appear to be forgetting to designate the story tags and that can be upsetting to the reader.

Bottom line: I think you are very gifted even though I normally don't care for the dom/sub story line. I think you are enchanted by the whole dom/sub thing, but have you given thought to trying a somewhat different story line?

I hope I have not discouraged you. If you had continued with the wall of type like the first story, I would want to discourage you, but you didn't. Some of your paragraphs are a bit longer than is comfortable, but overall not bad. The initial appearance of a story when you first open it has a great bearing on how well you receive the story.

Please continue to write - I'll be watching. (Now I don't mean to sound threating.)

Thanks for concern about my motivation. I think my problem is that I'm writing about a mature 19 yr old teen instead of one of my little girls. I've got a ton of "young" story ideas and want to get to them. Hopefully, soon.

Although it sounds good on paper, it might have problems in practice. To get on the list, a non-nominated writer might simply write a story for the next contest in hopes we would repeat this "pass". Yes more contest stories would be good, but not if the author's other stories are not deserving of recommendation.

I made a mistake when starting to read his stories: I opened his oldest story first - wall of type. Almost gave up, but because of your recommendation, I decided to check further. His story ideas really seem to be good and his style is good. I will read all of his stories.

I don't know about future contest I was speaking to just this one, being honest I have not checked to see if any of the writers that did the contest are not on the list... that should be done first. I know for sure allot of the regs that participated are indeed on that list. I was not nominating myself as I am already on the list too. But I read everyone of those stories and I think they were all pretty good, while of course some were not my cup of tea. So I am just saying I recommend anyone that did a story for that contest that is not already on the list should be. Consider that a recommendation I guess.

Yeah, Don sorry I have been busy with life. I stop by here and there but don't spend allot of time on at the moment. I am of course still writing maybe all post something here soon.

I don't recommend myself because my ratings speak for themselves. But I do feel that some of the contest participants are overlooked in favor of more well known participants. While their story subject matter might not be what everyone enjoys reading, the stories themselves are very much readable and maintain the constant flow needed to interest the reader. I nominated a few writers on the "Story contest" thread

A note about the new authors on the list:

I did NOT include all authors who submitted stories to the contest. I did, however, include the authors that seeminglysatisfied mentioned in the post on the contest thread. Normally I wouldn't include recommendations on other threads, but since SS actually used the word "Recommend" in the comment talking about them, I'm counting it.

Besides, it was only an extra two nominations; the rest of the ones mentioned were already on the list.

Speaking of revitalized, for all our talk of the site dying and nothing much happening anymore, I added seven or eight new names to the list this time, which is an unusually large quantity. That suggests to me that XNXX is alive and well.

I am starting to think the writers out there are showing themselves on the forum instead of just posting to the stories site. Maybe having their stories on both places would help to garner attention in their favor
