The stories forum is mostly inhabited by those post stories in the forum and not on the site. I figured the link and the badge might give people the chance to check the site out and see how user-friendly it is and maybe encourage them to submit there also.

[Sigh] I remember when this thread was about recommending writers (I'm guilty of it too, can't resist an opening to enter my two cents).
Since DC's last list there has been a page and a half of comments, only 5 of which (and they were quick ones too) were saying an author was good (3 of the five were recommended by semminglystupid, thanks for trying to keep us on task)

I want to recommend sharkattack. He's not for everyone actually whenever I read him I have to add about five years in my mind to the ages of his heroines in order to not have my (delicate?) sensibilities offended. but that doesn't stop his stories from being hot (maybe its the cause of the hotness, something about forbidden fruit being the sweetest).
any reader of the "young" genre should check it out though, as I said, you may want to round up their ages to an acceptable level.

Isn't Sharkattack already on the list? If not I whole-heartedly support this recommendation, although agreed Redlust, the young ladies Shark writes about may not be to everyone's tastes.

I have only responded to those who I have felt needed responding to. Am I not contributing to the discussion? Am I not trying at least to get the thread back on track? I understand that Emily is incredibly popular here, but she can fight her own battles Smile, she doesn't need you defending her honour, she's quite capable.

As for the badge, I deleted it from my signature already (indeed, before you posted this response) and will have nothing further to do with it. If I'm going to be made out to be something I am not just for wearing it then I don't want anything to do with it. Emily has made out it's attention grabbing (which it is in a way) and Cija suggested it was elitist (which again, it kind of is) so I'm done with it.

All I wanted to do was encourage more people to read my stories, I'm so incredibly sorry that it got so many peoples panties in a bunch. From now on, I feel all "badge" disputes should be taken up with its creator personally, and we should get this thread back to being what it was originally for; suggesting to other readers and writers, writers that we have personally enjoyed and feel that they may to.

Yes, it is a shame that something recognizing that you have been noted for at least one example of talent is looked down on to the point where the comments about same disrupt a thread meant to convey, maybe not honor (US spelling), but at least recognition of that talent.

I'd say this isn't T-Ball, not everyone gets a trophy. But also I don't think this wonderful site is for competition. So I'm stuck with this response: Meh, quit bitchin' (both sides) and let us get back to supporting (or tearing down in the case of Monsieur Santer) each other's stories. Really I enjoyed this thread more that way (guiltily((sp?)) the banter between Santer and everyone else) when I could find suggestions for solid stories and authors.

But, before I pass out, I have to say I have never found something as amusing as the thought of Elitism on a sex/porn site before in my life.

You know what? Call me crazy but lets nominate Santa for the writers list. He believes in his ability and I see where he is trying to go with it, but the writing isn't up to par. Let the rest of the forum decide if any of his stories are decipherable.

Totally disagree with the recommendation of little Santa for the list. From what I've read, most 8th graders could do better, hence my request for Mr. Rogers or Capt. Kangaroo.

I had to double check myself. He wasn't on the most recent one. so I assume he's never been recommended. As had been said before Recommendations don't need to be seconded. its not a nomination process. However the less self assured side of me appreciates the agreement.

Mind you, I don't allow pm or visitor messages from non friends, so the message might have been difficult to deliver, but neverthless, some open discussion would have been helpful. I sent people the logos in a PM. I couldn't send you a PM and you left a post stating you were on vacation. It's just something you highlight, copy and paste to your sig. I thought people might enjoy it. It wasn't meant to be something elite but just something fun. I didn't want to put it on my signature without offering it to all the others (which I did). Plus, I never felt the need to second recommendations of my favorite authors who were already being recommended. That said, I would like to tell a small story about my next recommendation.

I have been visiting the stories forum for about 3 years now, despite the fact that I only recently became active on the forum. One author in particular kept me coming back to the forum month after month, year after year. Despite the fact that his stories aren't for everyone (and at first, were avoided even by me) the arousal factor in his writing is off the charts. Having read all of his stories (several times each)....and being repeatedly disappointed by the lack of new material, I joined the forum in search of this author. I chased him down, finally caught up with him...and we are now obvious and old friends. So, if for no other reason than the fact that he has supplied me with loads of masturbation material...I would like to recommend Freethinker as an addition to your list.
