I would point out the names of the specific offending members of whom I am speaking but they are well known to the community .

It would also give them the attention that they crave .

Only reason these people are still on the site is because they're getting that attention .

Hearing different political views can be irritating particularly when we can't even imagine how someone could harbor that viewpoint but we could all learn from alternative ways of thinking.

But if the best a person can do is throw out insults and profanities what is the point of continuing any kind of discourse ?

They are simply toxic to any community even a virtual porn oriented community like this one .

I can't reiterate this enough. these kinds of people are fueled by attention and are perhaps fueled even more by negative attention .

Why is it so hard to simply put them on ignore because eventually they will get bored and go somewhere else?

People are looking for a reason why some people are rude to others on a forum.
I think they are missing the point.
One reason, a very common one, is that some people are not able to get out and have a life of their own. For different reasons they are forced to be at home alone. Disability is one reason and several on this forum are in that class. For health reason they are not able to do anything else and they use the internet for entertainment. The majority of them become sour to the world and have no one to take it out on. A forum becomes their way of trying to make other feel as bad as they do.
Some are just underage and want to get on a porn forum. They are easily to pick out as they have a very limited life experience and it shows. This usually pisses them off when other people do not think their lack of experience and knowledge is that valuable.
A few are people who have been pushed around all of their life and see a forum as a way to get back at the world for some slight they have felt by others in real life.
Some know a forum is the only place they can say things to others and be protected. In real life they would not dare say such things to people.

People should act the same way on a forum as they would do in real life. If there is a person on a forum that you would not talk to in real life you shouldn't talk to them on a forum. If you enjoy being ridiculed and insulted you should keep talking to these people. If you do not enjoy that type of things you should not talk to them on a forum.

One thing to remember. People who want to make other feel as bad as they feel need you to accept them. They will get tired of acting the same way to others in the same shape as they are in.
