Oh wow - I guess a thank you is in order to nophest for allowing me to contribute what I figured to be over 10,000 volunteer hours, in five years, to this site. I just got home from having my cat put to sleep and I find this. So I wasn't devoted? Because Monday - Friday I average 4-5 hours/day and on the weekends you can normally plan on another 6-8 hours/day - for free. But that is not defined as devoted. 2 hrs a day is now called devoted.

And the thing that really amazes me is that neither administrator had the decency or consideration to let us know privately. This is how we find out we're being replaced - a great big banner at the top of each page.

Thank you for your hard work and nondevotion.

On another note, I'm not sure what will happen to our CAWs and our KAWs. We know nothing about what is planned (obviously) so as far as any future help, we don't have any answers. Just please know that as long as we are allowed, we are here to help.

 

This is a concern of mine too. Some of us use word processor software that doesn't play well with our forum software. Format issues can be a problem. The current moderators can assist a CAW or KAW host with editing and correcting posts after the ten-minute time limit expires. We can sticky these threads. If a problem occurs with an entry (it's happened before) we can remove it at the Host's request.

I suppose that will stop now.

 

So, just so I'm reading this correctly. If you are a Moderator, you are not allowed to contribute or participate in any way on a forum, other than moderating? So that means that ejls and wantsomefun can no longer write stories (if they remain on as moderators), and N.E. Woman cannot review stories (publicly)?

That is not the way we understood the statement. But then, no one informed us of anything.

 

My take on it is a person can do one or the other -- participate or moderate.

I'm taking this from the same information everyone else sees. We see what you do, and no earlier than you.

Thank you for your devotion. That message confused me, so I'm glad it took ya'll by surprise too. I hope it all works out and maybe you have more time for writing stories. Keep me posted. Sorry about your cat.

Why do I say for my own sake?

Because it will mean that everybody's work was for nothing, sure we got great stories out of it, but they did do that work due to me calling them out to write. I have no problem to look like an idiot, but I will not stand to look like an idiot due to somebody else's nonsense.

If the KAW actually gets to that point where I can post a post which says: "Congrats to xxx, and to our second placed xxx" then I can be content and continue writing on the 6 stories I am currently working on.

 

Bad news for us if you are right, Wantsome and ejls have always done a great job for us here.

 

Let's not forget N.E. Woman, who ALWAYS reads and comments on entries in CAWs and KAWs. As moderator, she's cleared crap from these forums just like we all have, and as member she's proofread and even co-written stories (She says she didn't help that much, but we don't believe her).

69magpie never commented much on stories, but he did keep things clean. Losing him means a hole in coverage, especially on the sex stories site.

ahosewithnoname was a moderator once too. He resigned for reasons of his own, but when he had the staff badge, he participated, wrote, critiqued -- all things the new mods apparently won't be allowed to do.

We'll see how this plays out.

Seven more days? Cool... at least I've got an idea... well... I think. And to think that for the second time, I planned to finish the story well before the deadline.

 

I've written the opening paragraph.
As the warm rays of the sun crept above the horizon and began to fill the room, I realized that today would set the stage for the rest of my life, short or long-lived. Today would be different from all others, because today was the start of The .. That as far as I've got, not so bad?
