For some reason the site does not seem to have agreed with my story; though it shows up just fine in the My Stories tab, on the main site itself it's just a blank:

I hope this is a temporary server-type problem, otherwise getting the site admins to actually fix it will be...well, let's just say I hope it's a temporary problem.

 

I have had problems with the main site at times as well; it should appear on the main site shortly.

 

When I posted mine, I couldn't find it for hours, even though it showed as validated. It wouldn't come up under any search tag or means and didn't show in my profile for over half a day. When it did appear, all quotation marks were replaced by a weird symbol like a capital "A" with a halo. That disappeared a day later (still couldn't search conveniently for the story) at which point we entered a two-day period where the piece appeared with no quotation marks whatsoever -- something of a problem in a dialog-driven tale.

Now it looks fine, but searching for it is still quirky. marcdoodle found it, though.

Copy and paste it here on the forum, also, and send CAW SOP the link.

 

I wonder if Jade just thought she'd know if any more were coming, and so she assumed there weren't? I can't imagine there'll be a problem.

I'm glad you're entering; what about posting it in here? Then it'll be completely obvious and we can read it whatever the story site is playing around at today. edit: as wsf suggests.

 

I'm about ready to start reading myself, I'm looking forward to the new page going up (after 11:59) from what I hear we have a pretty diverse and large group... xmas miracle

 

Well, my story is listed under all the tags on the main site, and in my author profile, and it can be clicked on...but when you do there's nothing there. I don't know. In any case, the forum version is up and the link is sent. Good luck to all, and happy reading.

 

That is so odd. Did you try posting it again but leave it to be edited? Does it appear normal? I know you're probably getting ready for work, but try it later. At least we have the forum version.

 

Getting ready for work? It's three thirty in the morning in California. Granted, I do my best work after four, but it's still really, really hard to get someone on the phone for an interview until at least dawn. No one appreciates a good reporter's commitment to a deadline...

And no, nothing much seems to help. I'm going to just leave it alone for now and if it hasn't fixed itself in a few days I'll try posting it again.

 

BlackRonin is definitely having one challenging technical issue!! I have never experienced the problem myself, but have seen the screen capture. I am positive that all of us feel his pain. That is a most unfortunate and frustrating thing.

He has been advising me by PM of his efforts and I will post the reading list as soon as we can have it resolved to satisfaction.

I am sure you will all agree that this is a valid delay due to technical problems having nothing to do with any fault on the part of the author.

To be clear... he completed and posted the story before the deadline... then technical gremlins created our current situation.

Ah marcdoodle... at least he is consistent, if incredibly frustrating at the same time.
