I was reading an article in a magazine a while back where the author of the piece declared eroticism officially dead in America. Well that came as kind of a shock to me because I'm one of those old school cats that believe without the erotic element to porn than porn itself becomes boring and pointless. He psotulated the porn industry as the chief cuilprits in the failin health of porn in general and porn magazines and videos specifically. I tend to agree with him that porn has lost a lot of it's "heat" when it adopted it'scurrent way of presenting the XXX rated videos and sex maghazines. All the women look the same to me. Although they have been able to get some beautiful and hot younger folks to get naked for us, that seems to be where the heat ends. Since the porn industry decide to shave ti's women and all the men soon, the character of porn has suffered in my opinion. Oh don't get me wrong, the people still fuck and suck like crazy but in my opinion when the only surprise left is how many men will enmpty their nut sack on her face and how how many "gaping" ass hole shots before you almost scream ;enough already...........I am probably in the minority when I say that a gaping ass hole is not my idea of erotic. Shaved pussys don't get ny motor runnuing much either.....boring and they all look alike.But I guess I can hang my hopes omn the one bright(?) spot on a bleak porn landscape. We now have women squirtng urine and claiming it's girl cum. What a concept;both sexes can now be the one calling the "money shots".

 

In mainstream porn, you don't get much variety, no. It's just like any o ther business, they want to keep out the compitition. The big porn companies tell the distributors not to carry certian titles or they, the big money makers for all these porn shops, will cut back or stop shipping to them. What's an independant porn store owner to do? There is original and erotic stuff out there, but you have to dig to find it. Usually it can only be gotten online. Unfortunately I can't tell you were to look as this is only stuff I've read about and don't recall where to go to find it.

But I don't think you're wrong in being sick of the San Fernando Valley's idea of good porn. I've been bored with it for awhile. 8 out of 10 times it's not even effective anymore. I posted a thread awhile ago about having too much porn because I found I was bored with just about everything in my harddrive. I think it may have been different in the old days when porn wasn't so readily available. Now with the internet everything is at my fingertips and the luster wears off real quick. The bukkake thing still has some interest, but even that's a little dull right now. Not sure what will grab my attention next as I've seen pretty much everything besides gay porn and scat/watersports, all of which I'm not the least bit interested in.

Hey thanks for taking the time to comment on my post. I don't know you ,your age. background, or anything, right? But i would bet that our definition of eroticism and what it is , what it does ,etc would be probably not very similar. I won't buy any of the new stuff because they totally ignore a market segment((me and several thousand others) that actually want the porn performers to act as if they like each other and like what they are doing. The facial thing was read hot 10 yrs. ago but holds klittle in the way of heat now. Oh and the drift towards androgenous bald and bare things screwing each other failed to arouse me when it first debuted about 20 yrs ago. Oh and I klnow this is asking a lot of the porn industry but a story line in a film wont hurt it's chances come Oscar time

 

I usually like porn that is more personal. It doesn't always have to be though. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I wouldn't watch porn as much as I do if there wasn't any eroticism at all. When I watch porn at home (meaning not online), it's usually the videos of my husband and myself.

*Oh, I love the shaved look. Both of us shave and it's not really for the "look" of it. It feels better, not just to the touch, but sex is more stimulating. I'm big into using my mouth during sex and watching others during porn, hair in the mouth is disgusting to me.

 

I've always held this theory about porn that in order to be good, it has to offer something you can't get in real life. Maybe it's the fact that the people are far more beautiful than you'll ever see. Maybe it's that the people are doing freakier things than you know you'll ever do, or maybe something you won't get the chance to do. I'm never going to get to see two lesbians, but I find them completely sexy, so I'd like to see a porn with two lesbians. Sometimes that something you can't get in real life is eroticism.

So is eroticism a nececary feature in all pornography? No way, dude. But maybe eroticism is that feature that YOU look for in porn. One thing I value, other than beauty, is realism. As much as I hate reality TV, I have to admit that I really dig the new wave of "reality porn." The original Bangbus and that whole ilk - as long as it seems real - really gets me off. There's something dangerous and seductive, and it feels a lot more believable than a cast of beautiful porn stars and huge gobs of pearly white cum sprayed all over a three-thousand dollar tit job. And yes, I know that seduction reality porn is about as far from feminism as you can get, and I try to be as sensitive as I can, but there's just something about getting a girl into the back of a van and then talking her into sex within an hour. I hate to admit it, but degredation can be pretty sexy. Power sexy.

But I digress....

If you're convinced that eroticism is dead in pornography, then you're not looking hard enough, or not willing to spend a little cash on some good shit. Check out Michael Ninn's Ninn Worx Studios. He's putting out some really erotic stuff ranging from only erotic to kinda hardcore still dripping from eroticism. Or if you like pictures, focus on Hegre Archives and METart. I won't post links, but you can find a lot of their photography in XNXX's erotic and sexy galleries.

And yeah, stay away from the big porn producers. I don't really care for Wicked or Private or Vivid. These guys pretty much suck. Check out the Adult Fim Database for a pretty comprehensive listing of different studios, mostly bad, but some good.

 

I think eroticism still exists, but you have to look deeper than mainstream porn to find it these days. Porn was better a long time ago, when the movies had plots and settings. There was still lots of fucking and sucking and coming, but at least you knew WHY people were fucking and sucking and coming.

 

Well it is good to see that you do videos of the two of you... I know that there is nothing more erotic than that to view.. you know how it feels, and now how it looks too..

 

My opinion on the subject and the question at hand is simply... Yes it is important. It is not required all the time. But for the industry to be viable and continue to exsist without imploding I do believe it is a very important element.

Not really, most people who watch porn just want tits and cocks. Personally I think porn is so boring and repetitive, however, it’s a free world (sort of) so each to their own.

 

I want eroticism in the porn that I watch. I find it so much more of a turn on. I get much less enjoyment out of watching the basic mechanics of sexual activity. They are just going through the motions. I find erotic and sensual interaction to be much more stimulating.

IMO for the most part, women like erotica more than just hard core porn.
Erotica is more mental while porn is visual (generally)
Going back even as far as Lady Chatterly's Lover or Tess of the D'Urbervilles. women were more interested in than men were but when they made movies out of them with nudity and visualized sex, men watched them.
The Twilight and 50 Shades series were both horribly written but women liked them because of the erotica. Most men laughed at them as being "chick lit".
The cheesy Harlequin, bodice rippers have tons of sex in them. You just don't get the gynocological view of it.
Women know how sex works. They know what parts go where. They don't need the graphic details.
Then there are times when women want to see all the details men prefer to see. We just don't need it to be turned on.

 

Theres still a lot of good porn being produced out there, but we are in an age of excess and ease of access.

 

I’ve never been a fan of porn. The only vids that I like are candids: public bathrooms and upskirts. Those really turn me on. Watching women in their most private moments or looking up under their skirts. I’ve been a hardcore voyeur much of my life. I even made some of my own upskirt vids (not published anywhere) many years ago, but I felt so guilty that I stopped. Now I just watch what others do.
