Silly question.. I am new here, as you can tell

I was looking through the publishing information, and my stories seem to not be saving right. I hit "Publish this story" for both of them, and they both are listed as in Edit Mode, not Publishing or Validating? Is this correct? I read just about that it can take up to a week currently, as there is only one person validating, but I wasn't sure about the mode they are in. I DID make sure to hit Publish, not Continue Editing.....

Don't worry, you're fine! It'll just say Edit mode until they're either accepted or refused. You just have to wait a few days for them to review it. Oh, and don't hit edit again. It'll send your story to the back of the queue and you'll have to wait even longer!

 

Thank you! I was worried a bit about it, and as I am almost done with the third story that goes with the series, I wanted to get the first 2 approved before I do the third, so they are in order. LOL! At least now I know; seeing "edit mode" was confusing me.

 

Ive posted a couple stories in the forms and the main site, but they just seem to dissapear. My character is a myself when i was younger, a true story, and i was wondering what is happening. Does using words like babysitter get your story kicked? I didnt specify the age of the others or myself, should i? I am new to this site and want to share my stories and become a better writer but i cant if my content keeps getting deleted...help.

 

They'll infer ages, if ages are specified of not. If they think its referring to underage, then it'll be pulled. If your character has a babysitter, then it's pretty obvious they're underage. If they are a babysitter, their charges are underage.

 

Ive rewote them in a way to specify they are all about done with high school, but i want my character to have a level of naivety to empesize that these are his first steps into a sexual life style.

 

It sucks. I makes writing naive characters difficult. I you're writing a first time story, you have to look over your shoulder to see big brother watching you.

 

Yeah im realizing that. Ive redone them four times now, but i think i finally got it right. How long does it usually take for a post to publish?
Now that i have an origin story done i can go further.

hi, im not being able to publish my story its stuck in edit mode. i choose publish story from drop down menu but it dosn't pulish. it says edit mode in my my story page

 

It took about 1.5 weeks for 2 of mine to publish, the third several days after (all submitted on the same day). There seems to be only one person approving them, so hang in there

 

I think if it were possible it we nice to be able to search themes with in gender like True stories then written by a woman like the site and I would have thought someone would have braught this up before

 

You can do pretty well with a Google site specific search, like:

site:sexstories.com/story/ "True Story" "Written by women"

That search string brings up 2,120 story results which seem to have both tags.

 

Can't someone write an algorithm to go through stories and weed out all the ones that have certain key words, then the mods can check the rest manually? I know there are lots of stories, but waiting over two weeks to have a story posted seems too long, especially when it's a new chapter to a long story and I can't judge how long it's going to take. Might be a few days, might be like this one which I submitted on 5/25, and it's still waiting.

 

The dumb asses used an algorithm during the Great Purge.

They used a sledgehammer to tap an egg, and wiped out 95% of what was popular here.

 

Somehow, while I was gone and the great purge happened, none of me stories on sexstories got smashed. I'm wondering why I still have to post here to get people to go over to wolfpub and nifty for my unedited stories. Wolfpub got some of the good authors from here.

 

Wolf is small, like AFF, but a good solid place.

Nifty is awesome. I wish my stuff could have an audience there, but it just wouldn't be a fit.

 

Maybe in between driving writers and readers away from this site they could actually remove plagiarized stories from sexstories.com no matter the age of the fictional characters. Novel idea that.

 

I submitted a story three days ago, but it's still in edit mode? Is this supposed to happen?
