I'll tell you what. I will offer you the same challenge I have offered many others on this thread. Put your efforts where you mouth is. You put up every example you can find on a weekly basis of some "good guy with a gun" protecting themselves or others and I will put every stupid gun accident I can find for the same week and we can compare those two things.

And before you run your mouth too much you need to know I am willing to bet I can out shoot you with your guns let alone mine.

Or are you another Marine sniper? Because I have seen more people claiming to be military snipers on this forum than there are snipers in the military.

 

I apologize if I misunderstood the first couple of posts under this thread. I thought that this thread was about gun rights and our constitutional right to own guns as granted to us under the second amendment. As such, I believe that I have the legal right to defend myself, my family and my property against those whom would seek to do harm to me, my family or my property. Therefore, I don't see why I should have to invest the time into researching evidence to defend something which I have already been granted by the US constitution.

As far as gun accidents go, do they happen? Tragically, yes. Do I think that my right to bear arms should be infringed upon because of these tragedies? Absolutely not. If you feel that your posts about gun accidents are helpful and aid in preventing future tragedies, then by all means keep posting them.

 

It is quite possible that you could. I am not nor have I served in the military, so I have no specialized training other than growing up hunting and fishing with my family. An afternoon out shooting a few hundred rounds sounds like fun.

I have the right to own and carry a gun. I was in the military and hunted all of my life.
I have some advice for the people who disagree with my right to own and carry a gun.
Come and try to take it away from me anytime you want. You will find out why I do own and carry a gun.

 

The right to self defense is not even mentioned in the constitution and yet no one nor no state has ever questioned the right to defend yourself or your family.

So my questions to you is is gun carelessness acceptable and we should do nothing about that? And should everyone own a gun?

You and I are the same. I never served in the military either. But my grandmother taught me how to be safe and responsible with with guns and how to shoot when I was 8 years-old and I have been doing both ever since.

And my input here is to point out I never thought I would live to see the amount o0f gun carelessness we have in this country now, and it is clear to me we now have more "gun rights" in this country than we have gun sense and responsibility to go with them. And not everyone should own a gun because they cannot be trusted to be safe and responsible with a gun.

I agree. I was required to complete a hunters education course, before I could get a hunting license. I think that the same should apply before you are given a firearms license.

I also don't think that everyone should be allowed to drive a car either,, but that's just my opinion.

 

And you and I are actually finding many points of agreement. I am not anti-gun. I actually still love guns. But I think we need to stop pushing the insane idea that everyone should own a gun. City and States should be allowed to pass some common sense restrictions. And gun manufactures should not be immune to law suits.ssiblt

I also think we could possibly tax gun sales to help pay for the astronomical cost of treating gun injuries and require liability insurance. And at least the idea of taxing ammunition to pay for wildlife conservation goes back the early 1900's and has always had a lot of support, especially from hunters.

I don't hate guns. In fact I am willing to bet I can out shoot you with your guns let alone mine. What I hate is gun carelessness because there is no excuse for it the way I was raised and have always handled guns. But apparently you are all for gun carelessness which is why I sure hope you don't own or even handle any guns. People like you are too dangerous to have guns.
