Losing late haunts Maple Leafs again
The Toronto Maple Leafs’ third period woes came back to haunt them again on Tuesday. Leading the San Jose Sharks 2-0 late in the third period, the Maple Leafs gave up two quick scores and ultimately fell 3-2 in the shootout for their fifth loss in six games.

I'm very disappointed. You keep mentioning this team and that team for their "fifth straight" win and "sixth straight" win and "seventh Straight" win! Yet, you never mention the Bruins who Keep having "first Straight wins" all season (about thirteen of them I think).

 

Dallas Stars forward Cody Eakin suspended for hit to New York Rangers Henrik Lundqvist
Dallas Stars forward Cody Eakin has been suspended four games by the NHL for charging New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist during Thursday’s game at American Airlines Center.

The Winnipegger ran over Lundqvist as he was playing the puck behind his net mid-way through the first period. The collision knocked Lundqvist’s mask off and caused him to fall to the ice. He left the game but later returned, making 27 saves to help New York shut out Dallas 2-0. Eakin was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for the hit.

The league says Eakin did not make a reasonable effort to avoid contact and calls it a forceful blow. The 25-year-old will forfeit $85,555.56 in salary during his suspension.

Interesting, though from years ago. Second shot obviously hit the post in front of a blind referee.....and, since when do you get to take a second shot on a shoot-out after a save is made (a-la, the first Albany goal)?
