Human trafficking is on the rise everywhere it seems, more cases reported in the US daily. I've heard of multiple cases in my town over the last few months, but today's tops them all. Two low-life fucks have had a "special needs" person kidnapped and working as a prostitute for the last couple weeks. Glad to see the police were able to set up a successful sting and nap the miscreants. Sad fucking world we live in...

The missing girl's sister saw a Craigslist ad that matched her sister's description. She then contacted the police. Sheer luck. I had a friend whose kid had downs' syndrome. My friend told me they would kidnap a downs' kid, and by the time they were done raping her, they would have worn off all her pubic hair. I can't imagine what that poor child would have gone through.

 

First off, though in this case it worked as it is supposed to, know that most "human trafficking" arrests are really nothing more than prostitution sweeps. In fact, I read the other day how this guy and gal were charged with "sex trafficking" (him driving, her working consensually), yet they even came right out and said (and it is such an abomination of the term) that "because he drove this sex worker to her next appointment, that was transporting a person for sex, so that made it "sex trafficking of a human." What... the... fuck.

Fortunately, the general public has steadily increased its acceptance of sex work (naturally as long as it is not in their neighborhood), so to that end LE has started claiming that their goal was to find slaves, and what the hell, of the 100 gals they bagged 95 were simply sex workers, so they charge them making quota, and more often then not, also the people forced get charged too (in that now they're tainted), and they end up being victimized all over again by the system. Unfortunately, what that means is that the VERY real problem of human trafficking gets forgotten by the government. They say that is their intent, yet they devote their time to chasing streetwalkers and outcall. All while people are enduring hardships beyond imagination... As the OP mentions, right in his own town, because frankly, slavery goes on in every town, all over the world.

Be clear on this, real human trafficking, the buying and selling of humans is a worldwide problem of which developed nations are in no way immune. In fact, impoverished nations have a surplus of people willing to do anything to make a buck just to survive, and only well off nations have the disposable income that makes the risk profitable. That said, most slaves are actually not used in prostitution, yet are considered "single use commodities." IOW, one person will buy a slave from the person who procures them, then use them up until there is nothing left, then dispose of them. Not let them go, yet have them killed. You see, they view it as it is not safe to sell off a slave they used in that you can't be sure how responsible the next guy will be to do them in, and they're pretty messed up at that point. So if they get free, they might just talk. So, they don't go free, they die.

To buy a person is cheap. Not 100's of thousands, even 10's of thousands. Simply a few thousand, and if the seller is desperate enough for money, hundreds. They're runaways, kidnapped victims from all over the world, a big trend has also been to kidnap Native American's when they're off of the reservation, and most of them as you may expect in all cases are minors. So why don't we find them, our own people, here? It is much safer to send slaves overseas where they don't know the language, the laws, how to find help and so on. In fact, if they do escape it is very likely that they'll run into bigger trouble. Here in the U.S., most slaves are actually from foreign countries for exactly those reasons. Those from here that stay here are either taken young so they can be conditioned to be afraid to run, or if a little older, used then disposed of.

This is a very real problem, one where there is no firm number in that people just seem to vanish, and every now and then 1:1,000 pops up. I've seen numbers ranging up to the ten's of millions.

...and it is going on in this country, in your state, and very likely your town.
