I am glad, due to cercumstances, that my son won't have to worry about that. He's uncut just as I would want him to be. I can't say the same for myself, but I won't be the parent that has a cercumcision done just because the nurse or the wife say "it looks better".

This is a question that I'm sure comes up quite a bit between parents, on wanting what they feel is best for their kid(s). It's one i battled with myself...i guess we could argue the pros and cons of such an act but you could also make the same argument about the name you choose for him or her or the religion they are being brought up in along with various other different points of view we all have toward any given subject.

When my son was born my gf didn't want him to have a circumcision. I think the driving force behind that was that her sister's two boys weren't circumcised...nor was their father...and the fact that she watched a youtube video of it (and if you have ever seen it you would know why) i was all for it, not because of any religious beliefs or anything like that. i just thought it looked better personally...

I did some research because up until that point i had really not even thought a whole lot about the pros and cons. So anyway come to find out alot of insurance companies don't even pay for the procedure anymore because there isn't enough evidence of it being any better if you just happen to decide against it. So for me it came down to what i thought he would want. him being so little (1day old) how could i possible know? I can't...but i remember my father telling me that he was an adult when he had his done and it was the worst pain he had ever felt. Coming from a Vietnam vet that told me alot. He also said it took a very long time to heal. So i persuaded her to let him be circumcised...not sure how he feels about it now because he is still to young to care but atleast if he disapproves of the decision we made later on in life he can only blame his mother cuz no matter how good of a dad you are courts only recognize the mother as being the childs guardian...
