Well the director shot 3.5 hours worth of footage and took 1 hour out to cut it down. It didn't feel too long to me (I was getting kind of sore near the end just from sitting) but I was engaged the whole time and never was bored by the length. I didn't notice any extra security, I went to the first showing at 11:45 am and the theater wasn't packed, there was maybe 25-30 people at the most.

Brandi: I would have liked to just turn around and tell them to shut up, but being that they were black and there were other black people sitting near me, I didn't want to cause a "scene" and make a hostile situation with them, considering the nature of the film and all the stuff going on. It wasn't even a matter of singing to the music, I would be fine with that. The woman was continuously asking the most stupidest questions the whole time, so her boyfriend would have to explain every little thing, and these are things she would find out had she zipped it and just watched the movie. Or they would make the most captain obvious observations. I don't understand why people just can't be considerate of those around them, and I see it over and over when I do decide to see a movie, which makes me not go as often anymore plus the fact that I pay $10 for the film (I'll go see Star Wars in the theater when that comes out because that is a movie made for a theater experience).

Yes I went yesterday to see "Vacation" with Chevy Chase and had to tell a couple who came late and chatted the entire time to be quiet. It wrecks the movie and they even have a preview that says leave the commentary to the screen. People don't self regulate anymore as we live in a selfish world. I will let head office know each time because they need the feedback.

So.... was the movie bad..? You know, the original "Vacation" was one of my favorite comedies of all time. I do want to see this remake.

Yesterday we watched "Get Hard" with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart. We had a coupon code at Redbox and settled on this. It was actually pretty funny. Ferrell is a Wall Street broker who is set up for security fraud and has to enter maximum security prison in 30 days. Hart owns an auto detail business and needs 30,000 for a down payment on a home outside of the ghetto so he can move his young daughter to a safer school.
Because Hart is black, Ferrell assumes he has prison experience and says he'll pay him $30,000 to make him hard enough to survive his time in the pen. Well it doesn't work out too well so in one scene, Hart takes him to some gay bar and tells him he's not tough enough for prison and his only hope is to learn to suck dick. So he makes contact with this guy at the bar and they end up in a bathroom stall and Ferrell's on his knees forming his lips in a circle. Next thing you know, Ferrell comes running out of the restroom and goes up to Hart and says he couldn't do it and he needs to toughen up for prison. So they're standing there in the gay bar and Ferrell says "I want to get hard!" Hart hugs him and says he'll make him hard, "Very Hard" and as they start to walk out all the gay dudes stand and clap there hands. lol

At any rate, it was funnier than I expected it to be. I'll give it a somewhat raised thumbs up.

Even though I haven't seen it yet, I can tell you it's not a remake, it's a sequel. It's just similar to the first because it involves going to Walley World.

Rixer it wasn't bad but not great either. You see all the funny parts in the previews and most of the show was dumb. I probably didn't get the full enjoyment because of the yappers sitting in my row. Chevy Chase makes an appearance at the end and he is fat now, haha. Beverly D'Angelo looks great but her face is pumped with crap, lol. Basically they play a small part being the parents of the main leads who are taking a family vacation like he had when he was a child. Walley World was also a very small part of the film as well.

I was thinking of seeing Southpaw. Has anyone seen that?

Yeah it was dumb alright. lol All Ferrell's movies are.
I never said it was a great movie but for the price of a discounted Redbook rental, it was okay. Some parts were really funny.

The Intern was fantastic, loved it! Robert Deniro and Anne Hathaway were a great team in this feel good family drama.

    "Reasonable Doubt".
I had this movie on my Netflix list for quite a while but hadn't gotten around to watching it. It has Samuel Jackson and nobody else I've heard of.
Anyway, it's about a young up and coming prosecuter who was out drinking one night with a few friends. After he leaves the bar, he was going to get a cab but he spots some guys trying to get into his parked car. He runs them off but doesn't want to leave his vehicle there so he drives away. As he's driving home, he hits a man in the road and he drives away leaving the guy laying in a pool of blood.
So the police end up arresting another man for this crime (Samuel Jackson) and the young prosecuter has the job of trying him for his own crime.
It has some twists to the story I didn't see coming and we really enjoyed it.
If you got Netflix and want to see a good movie, get this one.

    I give it 2 thumbs up! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nymphomaniac 1&2, it was a very informative movie and it let me know I haven't scratched the surface of exploring what I want.

Just watching "Man of Steel". Great effects and pretty cool movie.

I remember being on set during filming of the original Superman movies made in Calgary and they have come a long way since then.

    Black Mass.
A movie based on the life of Whitey Bulger, the Boston gangster. Bulger is played by Johnny Depp who I thought did a good job. I liked the movie but I wish they would have told a little more of his life afterwards when he was hiding out in Santa Monica. They also glossed over his time in Leavenworth and Alcatraz. The movie mostly chronicles his life of crime after Alcatraz.
At any rate, it's at Redbox and worth the rental.

I give it one thumb up!
