So how is it, all of a sudden, after over 200 years, we need prayer rooms in schools?

 

They may be open to anyone, but only Muslims are using them. Do Christians and Jews go to a Muslim mosque to pray?
Do Muslims go to christen churches or Jewish Temples to pray?
This is SO wrong in so many ways. Why aren't the liberals bitching about it? Christen or Jewish, practice on school grounds. They would be screaming to high hell.

 

If it's the article I read, the room is open to anybody. Some Congresscritter is trying to make a fuss over it. I can see why you only post half the story and don't give a source.

 

The room is not dedicated to that purpose. They're also been using it for seven years now. Also, there are schools in Texas that have bible quotes posted on the walls.

I actually just spent 20 minutes removing a bunch in a thread I just posted lol.

 

I'm using a tablet, so it's pretty easy...once I paste, I just hilite one word, click 'select all', and it hilite the entire message, then I just click the 'delete links' icon. Gets 'em all at once, rather than one at a time.

 

Damn, I used to think we were lucky when we had smoking rooms in high school lol.

 

Speaking of "links" I don't know why I didn't see this earlier but if you look in the tools boxes above the text box there is a link icon with an x under it. Just highlight any part of an article you want to unlink and click that icon and it will unlink all hot links/words automatically.

For decades the ACLU and allied groups fought to get Christian prayer out of American public schools. They were successful. But now prayer is coming back into the schools, and as long as it’s Islamic prayer, it seems to be fine with everyone. This does, however, reinforce the principle of Sharia that Muslims have rights and privileges to which non-Muslims are not entitled.

A prayer room at a Texas high school is raising legal concerns and the state’s attorney general’s office in a letter on Friday to school district’s superintendent indicated the school’s policy should be neutral toward religion.

Liberty High School’s prayer room, which is reportedly dedicated to students who practice Islam, allows the students to pray at the school on Fridays instead of leaving to say their required prayers. The letter cites the school’s own news site, which focused on the prayer room.

In a letter Friday to the the Frisco Independent School District, the Texas attorney general’s office outlined the legal concerns over the prayer room, indicating it may violate the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberty.

“Liberty High School’s policy should be neutral toward religion,” the letter from Deputy Attorney General Andrew Leonie to Superintendent Jeremy Lyons said. “However, it appears that students are being treated different based on their religious beliefs. Such a practice, of course, is irreconcilable with our nation’s enduring commitment to religious liberty.”…

“Reports from Liberty’s news site indicate that the prayer room is not available to students of all faiths. Instead, it appears that the prayer room is ‘dedicated to the religious needs of some students,’ namely those who practice Islam,” the letter reads….

“This is my seventh year at Liberty, my first year it kind of started when a core group of students were leaving campus every Friday for Friday prayer,” said Principal Scott Warstler.

“Their parents would come pick them up, so they may miss an hour and a half to two hours to two and a half hours of school every Friday, so I met with those students and a couple of their parents and suggested if they would be okay if the students were able to lead the prayer at school as a group, and we gave them a space to do that so they didn’t have to be in a car traveling thirty minutes each way on a Friday missing an hour, hour and a half, of class,” said Warstler….

Just like I was when I went to our local school board and told them they could not provide class rooms and tax payer resources to accommodate the Mormon Seminary classes. Or when I went to the same school board and told them they could not allow the local Baptist to hold their bible study classes in our schools. And I told them then the only way they could do that under our constitution was if they were willing to allow all the other religions to do the same. And they tried to ignore me because they didn't believe any other religions besides Mormons and Baptists would ever show up demanding their own rights.

And now that they have I laugh at both them and you.

You have to understand that liberals think that there are good conservatives like Muslims and there are bad conservatives like christians and Jews .

Also Muslims tend to be darker skinned and liberals are very careful about not offending darker skinned people no matter their behavior .
