Poor play calling, poor clock management by the Cowboys. Aaron Rogers typical play. Valiant comeback to no avail. Guess Romo gets turned into a pass rusher...or two in the off season. Hey, no joy, wouldn't have it any other way.:(:arghh:

Zek only had 22 runs and did well but cowboys where chasing the score and coaches
felt they needed to pass more.....some real bonehead mistakes also....

Those two field goals instead of touchdowns in the first half were the result in poor play calling on third down plays. I mean when you have third down and two from GB's 30 yard line why would you pass when you have Zeke. They wouldn't have stopped him twice...yes I would have gone for first down on a fourth and inches. Just a lack of focus more than a failure of execution throughout the game. Oh well, next year...I am tired of saying that. They also didn't have to leave GB thirty seconds at the end. That ball spike to stop the clock on first down by Prescott wasn't needed before our last field goal. Not like the Cowboys played it for a touchdown afterward. Maybe just extreme disappointment on my part, but I'd have called a few things differently. I sure hope the Cowboys can get a pass rusher or two in the off season.

The old Cowboys always gave a nail biter in the 4th, but, then they won the game.
Oh well, it could have gone either way.

Two good games yesterday, at least for those of us who didn't have a dog in the fight. Both came down to the wire and both were decided by veteran teams and veteran coaches.

All in all, a good weekend for divisional play-off games, they have set up some entertaining football for next weekend. Pittsburgh should play the Brady Bunch tough, with more intensity than the Texans did, the result should be a closer Patriots win. Green Bay should beat Atlanta easily, even though they are the road team.

It is the Romo curse......never win a playoff as long as he is on the team.....hope Jerry trades him...we will see...

13-3 is a hell of a season and does not happen often....
because the cowboys ended so high in standings they will have a much tougher schedule next year....
    also a lower draft pick.....

    Tom Brady Home

Now aside from this whole “deflate-gate” scandal, Tom Brady is living a pretty good life. Not only is he one of the most popular Quarterbacks in the National Football Leauge, but he also is married to Gisele Bundchen who is one of the most popular supermodels in the world. The happy couple picked up this mansion in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts for a reported $20 million. It’s a rough life, but someone has to do it right?

    Tony Romo Home
    [IMG]

This 32,500 square foot mansion located outside Dallas, Texas belongs to Tony Romo. Interestingly he went undrafted in 2003 and was actually picked up as a free agent by the Cowboys and barely hung on in the organization as a 4th string quarterback. But then at the start of the 2006 season, he got his big break when he replaced Drew Bledsoe as the starting quarterback and the rest is history. He picked up this massive six bedroom home for an estimated $9 million that includes all the goodies, pool, outdoor entertainment area, and what looks like a good size garage for all kinds of cars.

Crazy how much the top players make, right? Critics say it's obscene that they make so much to play with a ball, but that is not what they are doing. They are selling stadium tickets, a multiple of the ticket for merchandise, and advertising at $5mil per thirty seconds.

By that measure, I would wager that Brady made more money for the Patriots during his four game suspension than most players make for their teams in their entire careers.

As for Brady's house... Giselle could have paid for at least half of it all on her own. They are definitely made in the shade.

Now Peyton Manning... I've heard that his family had inherited wealth before they ever became a football family. Even the Manning brothers' father had money. I might be wrong, but that's what I heard.

The only problem with a few getting paid so much is there is a salary cap for each team and
only a certain amount total can be paid per season for entire team..

When you pay a star 30 million and 2 more 25 million each then the rest of the team can suck because you
cant pay enough for the other supporting players.....

however Stars put butts in seats....

Archie Manning (who I have met) (peyton's father) was All-American QB at Ole Miss.....

He went on to be QB for the New Orleans Saints back when QB's where getting a million a year tops....

He is of modest means family Drew Miss. and had it rough....

In the summer of 1969 his father, Buddy Manning, committed suicide and Archie, who was home from college for summer vacation, was the first to discover Buddy's dead body. In the biopic-documentary Book of Manning, Manning said that he considered dropping out and getting a job to support his mother and sister but his mother persuaded him to return to college and not put his rising football career to waste.....

Archie started owning interests in bars and restaurants in New Orleans years ago which also made him money...

He has one place there now

Mark Cuban Mavericks basket Ball Team Owner not too far away.....

Mark Cuban’s Dallace palace can easily rival with any other home from Dallas, Texas or the entire United States. Built back in 1997 on a massive 7 acres lot in the high-end Dallas neighborhood of Preston Hollow.

At the time it was completed, Mark Cuban’s giant home was the ninth most expensive house in Dallas, valued at $17.2 million right now, which is still a major bargain for 23,600 square feet, 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, five wet bars, four attached and two detached garages.

He paid Romo too fucking much....24 million cap hit next year if we keep him and 19 million hit if he goes....

With the salary cap these days it is a balancing act putting a team together....

He paid Romo too much because Romo sold tickets here.....

Looks like Romo may have to buy a place in Denver...guess Manning can point him in the right direction. Though, 6 million difference in hit to the Boys to keep Romo seems the right move. Hell of a back up QB.

      Bilichek....has had a few scandals....

But he is a real coach.......one of the all time best.....
Also Brady has taken less money the last few years to be able to get other better teammates ....
Bilichek has been amazing at rotating no name running backs that just keep showing up for the last 5 years----
he also builds his teams defense up......

If Jerry died his son Steven would fire Garrett in a heartbeat and get some real folks in as gen manager and Coach.

I realize Brady is the guy most of this forum loves to hate, but he does quite a bit for the team and the community... and even the league, truth be told, than he is seldom given credit for.

Example: He could have made a lot more money, for many years of his career. He does make millions, in a multi-year contract, but he could be earning a couple multiples. He voluntarily caps his own salary way below market rate, so that the Patriots can afford high quality players. It is part of the reason why they have so much depth, and why the other players-- his offensive line, especially-- would take a bullet for him.

I mentioned he took less money for the team.....

I think the guy is great......
when you looked at him on the sidelines he would have a look in his eyes of
a machine......some of his teams have just been amazing....

However I did make a nice sum of money betting against him on the money line
when the Giants upset him in the playoffs a few years back....

I've always liked Brady since he took down the Greatest Show on Turf. St. Louis Rams for his first SB win after the 2001 season. How can you fault a guy who strives to EXCEL ??

    any thoughts on sundays matchups

I like Atlanta, the Green Bay magic stops, rogers may as well be throwing to pylons named jeff janis...oh wait.

Pitt/NE has the makings of an epic game...I really don't know which way this could go, but the magic feeling says Steeltown.
