Here is something we all can agree on. When you buy a ticket from a airline, it SHOULD be a contact between the purchaser and the airline.

If you are in business selling a service to a individual, you cannot take their money and then change your mind and tell them to go fuck themselves.

Take note, almost every business has refund restrictions or policies.

For United Airlines to drag off a paying customer that kept his end of the bargain was outrageous. Everyone should boycott United Airlines. This could have been handled much better.

This is how we show bullies they can no longer bully with impunity.

I wouldn't fly United or American Airlines if my life depended on it.

That is one of the problems with business in the USA, they are more concerned about the bottom line than they are customer satisfaction ...

The bad part is the man was thrown off so a airline employee could get his seat. One officer involved has been suspended.

I know how much Smith looks forward to long stories so since he was so fucking vague lets take a closer look :

United Airlines CEO Apologizes After Video Shows Man Dragged Off Flight

The CEO of United Airlines apologized to customers on Monday following an incident on an overbooked flight where video appeared to show an elderly man being dragged from his seat and through the aisle of a plane.

Several videos posted on social media appeared to show three law enforcement officers pull a screaming man from his seat on the plane and then drag him by the arms down the aisle as shocked passengers look on. A witness told NBC News the ordeal began after the airline said the flight was overbooked and asked four customers to leave the plane and take a flight the following day.

"This is an upsetting event to all of us here at United," CEO Oscar Munoz said in a statement. "I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers. Our team is moving with a sense of urgency to work with authorities and conduct our own detailed review of what happened."

"We are also reaching out to this passenger to talk directly to him and further address and resolve this situation," he added in the statement.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said in a statement Monday afternoon that the incident was "not in accordance with" standard operating procedure and the officer's actions were "not condoned" by the department. The officer involved was placed on administrative leave effective Monday pending review of the situation, the department said.

The Chicago Police Department said in a statement earlier Monday that around 6 p.m. on Sunday, a 69-year-old passenger "became irate" after he was asked to leave the plane.

"The passenger in question began yelling to voice his displeasure at which point Aviation Police were summoned," police said in the statement.

A man wearing a security jacket stands in the aisle before a United Airlines passenger is forcibly removed from a plane at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Sunday, April 9, 2017.

Police claimed the officers were attempting to carry the man off the flight "when he fell."

"His head subsequently struck an armrest causing injuries to his face," police said, adding that the man was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. An investigation into the incident was still ongoing.

Multiple attempts to reach the Department of Aviation for comment were not immediately returned.

Tyler Bridges, who posted video of the incident on Twitter, told NBC News he and his wife were on the United plane at O'Hare International Airport from Chicago to Louisville on Sunday when a flight attendant said the flight was overbooked and four people would have to leave to make room for airline employees.

Bridges said the flight attendant offered an $800 voucher for anyone who would volunteer to get off the flight and leave the following day at 3 p.m.

"Nobody moved, nobody got up," he said.

When no one volunteered, Bridges said, a gate agent told them the airline had used an algorithm to randomly select four people to get off the plane.

First, a young couple was asked to leave and, "they're not happy, but they get off. No problem," Bridges said.

Then the unidentified man in the video was asked to leave, Bridges said.

"He says he's a doctor and has to be in Louisville in the morning to see patients," he said. "He says he can't be delayed a day."

The agent then said if the man did not leave, she was going to call security, according to Bridges.

The man refused, prompting a verbal exchange with law enforcement officers, Bridges said.

One of them "walks down the aisle and starts yelling at the man. He grabs him, throws him out of his seat and they drag him off," Bridges said.

"Everyone is disturbed," Bridges said. "It was kind of a dramatic scene."

After the man was dragged away, the four United employees boarded the flight, he said.

But a few minutes later, the man who was removed from the flight ran back on the plane, saying he needed to get back home.

"Somehow he got back on," Bridges said. "He runs back on — dazed, bloodied, kind of in a mess — yelling 'I have to get home, I have to get home.'"

The man was removed on a stretcher, "resisting the whole time," Bridges said.

It was unclear how the man returned to the plane and what happened after he was removed.

United confirmed in a statement late Sunday that a passenger was removed from the overbooked flight.

"Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked. After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate," the company said in a statement.

The company apologized for the overbooking situation and referred additional comment to authorities.

Bridges said passengers felt the man had been wronged.

"Airlines overbook flights all the time — that's not uncommon," Bridges said. "But everyone felt that they had wronged the man."

The flight was delayed three hours as a result of the incident, he added.

The incident comes just two weeks after United faced a public relations storm after two girls who were traveling as family or friends of airline employees were denied entry on a flight for wearing leggings.

Forget setteling, the man needs to sue the shit out them for the injuries, pain and suffering, and embarrassment. No jury would side with the airline after seing the video of him being drug off the plane while unconscious.

Another thing about United, and others are following. Since they started charging for luggage people have been traveling with carry on luggage to avoid the fees and the wait at the turnstyle. Now they won't allow you to use the overhead compartments anymore. If it doesn't fit under your seat you must check it and pay the fee.
    Bastards.

United is notorious for overbooking fights. They pretend to be a top level airline when in fact they are a notch below Jet Blue.

About 4 years ago I was on a United flight from St. Louis Mo to Fort Lauderdale FL and not only was the plane's cabin a bit dirty, the seat in front of me smelled like urine...

Aces, Twocards, Rixer or JPT must have been on the flight right before you and pissed himself. Probably drunk as usual. You're just lucky it wasn't shit.

I know here they have back to back flights and don't get to much time to clean. If someone wets the seat that is tough cause if the next flight is booked they can't block off that seat.

Ok now, everyone settle down a bit. Take a breath.
First understand that Shooter does not like United Airlines.
Second, understand that all airlines overbook flights by some percentage. They do this because on a flight with say, 150 seats, chances are, 3-5 people with confirmed reservations, even passengers who have checked in on line or got their boarding pass in the terminal, will end up missing their flight.
They get delayed, they change plans, they fall asleep in the terminal.
    Shit happens.
But, once that plane door closes on an empty seat, the revenue potential for that seat on that flight is lost.
And every airline (US flagged or otherwise) does this. They all intentionally overbook flights. They want every flight to go out full. No vacant seats.

Also, on any flight, a percentage of passengers will be either air crew "deadheading" or non rev passengers. You know about non rev passengers. We covered this last month, you recall, because a couple of girls weren't appropriately dressed for non rev travel and there was a stink raised by a "concerned passenger" not related to the girls. A fucking busy body in other words.

Anyway, deadheading means a flight crewmember(s) are in one city (lets say Chicago), but their flight schedule starts in another (lets say Dallas). The aircrew flies "free" from Chicago to Dallas, and the deal among the airlines is, aircrew deadheading get on just about no matter what. It's not unusual for a pilot say, living in Seattle, to start their work week in New York, and end in Los Angeles, and in between they have to dead head one or more additional times to get to their next plane.
Why, you ask is this? Why do aircrew with a fucked up flight schedule just about always get on?

Because if the crew misses their flight to Dallas, that flight they were supposed to take out of Dallas all of a sudden doesn't have a crew, and 150 passengers are delayed, miss connections, get pissed, and so forth. The plane leaving Dallas for it's destination (lets say Miami) needs to get to Miami on time, cause for damn sure, when it gets to Miami it's going to pick up another 150 passengers and go somewhere else, lets say New York.
If it doesn't get out of Dallas on time, things can quickly snow ball into impacting a few thousand passengers who rapidly get mightily pissed off and cranky.
An aircrew missing a deadhead flight can cost the airline a lot of fucking money. So all the airlines cooperate with each other. Dead heading flight crew just about always will get on a flight.

Anyway, so every so often an overbooked flight also has everyone, or nearly everyone, show up. Maybe only one passenger doesn't show up, but there are 4 aircrew needing to get somewhere on that flight.
No matter what you hear, the airline cannot simply stuff a passenger in the overhead, or let them ride the jump seat in the cockpit, or sit in the lavatory.
So, when the gate agents realize, Damn, I'm overbooked by 4 people, they have to get 4 people to give up their seats. They start by offering vouchers for future travel. They'll add a first class upgrade, and eventually they'll up the value of the vouchers, and if they still don't get any takers, then they have the computer randomly pick 4 passengers, and they boot them off the flight, like it or not.

Which is what happened in this case; no one would give up their seat, so the gate agent let the computer pick 4 passengers at random and then told (not asked) the passengers selected to get their shit and get off the plane. One detail; the platinum, or diamond, or bronze coated gold miles members are not subject to being selected; the computer automatically doesn't select the "best" customers on the flight.

Most of the time, it's inconvenient, and the booted passenger gets triple the value of their ticket or $2,500 in vouchers, they get their ticket refunded, and they get a free first class seat to wherever they are going on the next flight. But, passengers don't normally lock their arms round the seat in front of them and scream in terror when they are told they got the short straw and to get off the plane.

The cop probably could have handled it better, but Shooter knows one thing; if the cop was there, the gate agent and flight crew had already spent 10-15 minutes trying to get this guy off the plane. They don't call the cops just for grins after all.
So, the flight is late, the cops are now involved, 150 passengers are sitting on their ass getting pissed, the schedule for the rest of the day is quickly going to hell, and one way or the other, like it or not, someone is coming off the fucking flight.

Now, the guy said he was a doctor and he had patients to see the next day. If true, he's got a legitimate bitch with the airline, but the bottom line is, get your ass off the plane, cause I said so and it's my plane. We'll deal with this at the gate.

Oh, and if you read your contract of carriage (either printed on your ticket, given to you when you check in, or on the web site when you make your reservation) it will tell you all about overbooking of flights and what your rights are. The fact that you bought a ticket doesn't mean you are guaranteed a seat, or that your flight will leave on time or arrive on time, or even that you will get the aisle seat you reserved. Read the damn contract of carriage, then bitch to the airline or your congressman. Its all legal and normal. Every airline does it.

But one of the rights you do not have is refusing to get off the goddam plane when you've been told to.

And yes, Shooter got involuntarily booted once from a flight. A United flight. He had 4 appointments the next day, one of them he'd fought to get for almost a year. Shooter was mightily pissed. But, he was able to reset the missed appointments (2 of the 4 he had) and kept the other two. It all worked out.

    Another non news item.

This incident will be a nightmare for United. For some unknown reason some "business" people DO NOT BELONG IN BUSINESS. Businesses spend millions of dollars each year on advertising, trying to attract business. Any company that employs agents that can't remember the (innocent) customer is always right, should do something else. Such as work for the government. United just gave their competitors each a free million in advertising. Instead of costing themselves a million in ill will, they should have made all the passengers a deal they could not refuse. 2-3,000 dollars to give up their seat. Or paid JPT a couple grand to drive the deadhead employees to Louisville. He could have got them there in one of his high powered vehicles in three hours, maybe even 2... ;-)

Lets be clear on who gave United the poor PR job. The passengers on that plane who just could not wait to post their videos on social media, noting how "mean" the airline was. All the passenger had to do was get off the plane and have it out with the gate agent. He had delayed the flight God knows how long with his childish temper tantrum and his "demand" that he paid his fucking money.
Note to brat passenger; you do not run the airline. You do not get to refuse to obey flight crew instructions because it is inconvenient for you.
Note to airport police; Learn some handy come along holds; no need to drag this fuck like a sack of potatoes.
Note to airline; Next time this situation arises make sure the other 149 passengers understand why they are still sitting at the gate when they should be on their way already.

Oh, and why or how did this passenger get on again after all the fuss?
Most likely a passenger decided they would, after all, give up their seat, or one of the deadheading crew found a different route, or something along those lines.
Guaranteed though, it wasn't because the gate agent had a change of heart. At that point the gate agent probably sent this guy's bags to Juneau.

Just an FYI, the airlines are free to "bump" a passenger after the fact under the rules BUT there is an up to 1350 dollar compensation rider there too.

They will be adding a few 0"s to that for this guy and the poor bastard was walking around like a lost puppy afterward and was clearly out of sorts chanting "I have to get home, I have to get home" over and over.

They fucking traumatized this guy and it was heartbreaking to watch ...

      Legally told to get off.
He doesn't have a case, but probably the airline will give him a future upgrade and a few bucks and a pair of kiddy wings just to shut him up.
And whether he wants to or not, probably United won't take him as a passenger again.
