Probably the biggest surprise of this first round, if the figures turn out to be true, is the strong showing by Mélenchon and the weak vote for socialist Hamon. 4 months ago, there was no way that Fillon could lose this election. Hollande had killed off the Socialist party and the Communists were a memory from the dim and distant past, unable to find a candidate within their own party. Penelopegate messed up Fillon's chances and Mélenchon became a shining light for the left.The Socialist Party is going to have to reinvent itself from scratch after this disaster. Expect a centre-right majority after the upcoming parliamentary elections with Les Républicains as the biggest party and probably someone like Juppé as Premier Ministre. Strangely enough, just a few weeks ago, Fillon was talking about Macron as a possible PM if he won. After Penelopegate, there is no chance of the contrary taking place.

The process was unusual and redundant in a two round election.
In a twist of irony, the Primaries turned out to be disastrous for the two historical parties.

The young Labour presidential runner up was short-cutted by Macron on his centre and the Communist Party on his left, surfing on the Podemos/Siriza wave.
The Labour Party (or Democrat) has done 6% tonight
The Communist Party 12%
Both are out.

The Tory presidential runner up was Sarkozy's Prime Minister, a Man whose honesty and efficiency had never been challenged.
The Former Chancellor of the Exchequer leaked his Tax sheet to the press.
Fillon had employed his Welsh wife, Peneloppe, on tax payer's money for decades.
Judges called the Tory candidate. Peneloppe and himself were placed in custody.
Despite an exceptional resistance, Fillon was not able to catch up lost ground.
Never did the Tory Party question the European Union. They were talking about transforming the EU but never about closing borders.
Out of 11 candidates only 2 talked about FREXIT. One of which was... Marine Le Pen. She did 23%
The Historical Tory/Republican Party has done 12%.
They're out.

As a result, Le Pen and Macron will go head to head in the second round in 2 weeks time.
15 years ago, Marine's infamous father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, caused a sensation by qualifying for the second round and at the time, all political parties had called to rally Jacques Chirac. Jacques Chirac eventually got re-elected with 80% votes.

Tonight, EVERY SINGLE POLITICIAN IN FRANCE IS CALLING TO BACK UP MACRON and stop the National Front. "Project Fear" is kicking off again! "The National Front would be a disaster for our country, we call to vote Macron" as though they had not brought Europe on the verge of starvation for 40 years. As in the latest American Election, THE SYSTEM is embodied in One Man : Macron. You really know fuck all about French politics. Why do you bring in references to Democrats/Republicans, Labour/Tories, as though they are interchangeable? Wednesday's debate was a total shambles. Le Pen did very little other than hurl abuse at Macron. The only time she did try to put forward policies, she took a leaf out of the Trump book and promised tax cuts and benefit hikes without explaining where the money would come from. 30% of the time she was like an old whore who has taken a client's money and then makes fun of the size of his dick so he can't get an erection. Nobody was taken in by her and even officials in her own party have criticised her perfomance.

 

It's this weekend isn't it? Are we going to finally see some kind of binding decision?

 

Hold on a minute, you've pissed us for how many months to know who of wanker BERNIE SANDERS or hysteric Hilary would represent Barack Obama a mass murderer who bankrupted the country he had in charge. At least, it's the popular vote that will decide. There is a first round with all candidates and a second round two weeks later with the two finalists. What is at stake is destroying the European Union.

 

Hopefully, people won't vote. It's the only way Le Pen can go through. Anything but that fucking twat
