Anyone ever found someone the know of knew on this form by accident ?

 

I don't know her, but I had a fellow classmate approach me last Thursday during class as she walked by and saw this page up on my laptop. She called it the "Blue Room" and everything LOL I plan on talking to her tomorrow if I see her.

 

I had a coworker recognize me here several years ago and he made it his mission to ruin me in our workplace by posting my photos all over the building. It was a super stressful time but thankfully the bosses fired him for sexual harassment and supported me. I have since then pulled all of my photos and now lurk in the dark.

In my experience, it's much more common for someone to be followed to a forum by somebody in their everyday life. Sort of a pseudo troll. The nastiest forum drama is always something a person brought with them.

Moderators have to deal with this shit all the time and there's little they can do. I once got a pm from a woman who had come to the forum(which shall not be named) and quickly became the new cute chick. She called herself Grace, and flirted in public posts and was quickly popular with all the guys. She had a partial face ID, which may have been a mistake. After about four months, a new guy appeared and started trolling her. He made posts along the lines of, "What would people think if they knew you were here?"

It turned out, Grace was once a high school teacher who had lost her job because she sent a tit pic to a minor. The story was pretty mild. She was an online gamer and made a friendship with another gamer. She assumed he was an adult. For some reason, she sent him a pic with her face and an exposed nipple. He wanted more and she refused. He revealed himself to be underage and demanded more, or he would report her. She refused again, and he reported her to the police and the school board. All of this was reported in the news, and her troll threatened to post the links on the forum.

I told her, the only thing she could do was close her account and have all her posts deleted. The forum would do that, if a person's account put them in personal danger. I told her, the chances of someone recognizing her were very slim. This guy stalked her. All it takes is a friend of a friend and the information will be heard by an unfriendly person.

One never knows what a freak will do when they find a vulnerable person, but I had a feeling Grace knew what it was all about from the start and knew who it was.

 

I think that the odds of someone recognizing you on a forum like this are pretty small. Espically if you never post a face pic. There are just to many people in the world and by comparison the membership here is even a fraction of a percent.
That being said it probably has happened in a few cases.

I think a greater exposure risk would be of you were in some type of local internet group. Let's say " sex perverts of city A."
One of you neighbors on City A may be doing a Google search for something and one click leads to another and suddenly your pics pops up. It could even happen on an adult dating site where you are not trying to hide your identity.

Lets not forget as well that some people are fucking assholes and just want to spread misery.

 

Not yet, and it's something I don't worry about. They had peep booths not to far from me, nothing else there but booths. I was dying to see what they were like, because the only porn I seen was magazines. As soon as I turned 18 I went and checked them out, and found out movies weren't the only thing playing there. I was nervous about going back and maybe seeing someone I or my parents knew. Then it just came to me one day and I said fuck who cares who might see me there, their not going there to have a beer, their there for the same thing like me. So the same goes for here, who cares.

 

That is awful! How can someone who also spends time here be so hypocritical?! And plain mean. Good for your employer to sack his ass! I hope he's homeless!

For me it would be a non-issue. However, I do get out enough that I have had problems from other forums by clearly showing my face (as in some guy typically with his buddies approaching me and stating "hey aren't you that ____ chick?" and then assuming that because I am I fuck and suck on command). The minimal amount I do to shield my face is enough to not have the issue.

Not on here but a coworker saw the wife and i on craigslist personals and made a move. We declined and that was that he was really cool about it and never told anyone.
