    people, do you exercise regularly? are you healthy? do you eat like a rabbit, or do you eat like a lion? i'd like to hear what people have to say on diet and exercise, what kinds of workouts (for the weightlifters), what kinds of cardio, sports, etc, if its exercise at all share it with us!

    I do 20 or so pressups and 20 or so sit-ups each night. I would do more, but I've just started all this! I walk a lot - in fact my family is big on the walking holidays, we go off to Switzerland for a couple of weeks most years - and I'm gonna take up rock climbing. I eat pretty healthily overall, but my metabolism would put Formula One to shame, it's so bloody fast. I can't seem to put wieght on.

    6'3" and only 10 stone. Shit...

    well let's see

    do I exercise regularly?: yes, I do, every other day, and I lift hard

    do I eat healthy?: yes I do, always watch what I eat

    my weight lifting routine is as follows

    Chest/Triceps/Abs/Legs Day:

    Crunches:

    one set of 80 crunches on an exercise ball

    Bench Press(which inlcludes regular, incline, decline:

    2 sets of 12 reps for the lower weight of that day

    2 sets of 6 reps for the higher weight of that day

    Pec Press(if I'm at my school's gym):

    2 sets of 12

    2 sets of 6

    Crunches:

    another set of 80 crunches on the exercise ball

    Triceps Extensions:

    2 sets of 12 reps for the lower weight

    2 sets of 6 reps for the higher weight

    Crunches:

    80 crunches on the exercise ball

    Squats:

    2 sets of 16

    2 sets of 8

    Crunches:

    80 crunches on the ball to end the workout
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Shoulders/Biceps/Back/Legs/Abs Day:

    80 crunches on the exercise ball

    take plates and do the exercise where you basically stratch with weight, forget what it's called

    Shoulder Press: 2 sets of 12, 2 sets of 8

    80 crunches on the ball

    Bicep and Forearm Curls: Bicep Curls: 2 sets of 12, 2 sets of 6, Forearm Curls(in between biceps curls sets): 1 set of 12, 1 set of 6

    80 crunches on the ball

    Back Rows: 2 sets of 12, 2 sets of 6

    80 crunches to end it again

    I always work my abs through the entire workout so they don't get any time to rest during the exercise and eventually I'm going to change the 80 to 100 and then 120 and so on


    then I play basketball or some other sport at least once every day and run a couple of miles atleast once a week

    I eat healthy but not fitness freak healthy as I'm trying to gain weight and so far I've had lots of success with this routine, which has taken me 2 years to get right

    oh and as far as info goes:

    I'm 6'4, 177-180 depending on the day, 9-10% body fat

    how much is 10 stones? i donno how much a stone weighs.

    well i eat pretty healthy, although i can never get enough protein (ideally i'd like 150-175 grams a day).

    im about 5'11", almost 6ft. i weigh 130-135, the most i ever weighed was 140.

    i have been lifting weights and doing light cardio for about a year (although its the winter and i dont really get any cardio in the winter cause its fuckin freezing outside).

    im about to start a new lifting routine for which i am really excited about, and i will be getting more supplements tomorrow (whey protein, creatine/amino acid powder).

    i get my supplements at GNC, an acronym for General Nutrition Center. this is a large, country-wide chain and they have a very competetive, store-brand whey protein supplement at a fair price.

    kudos on the weight gain baller! i weighed 110-115 when i started working out, and i was really skinny. i was the skinny little stoner kid who was lazy and sat around watching tv a lot. now (to use vincenzzz's words) im "fit as a fiddle!"

    yea I know of GNC, was thinking of going to the local one and getting some sumplements as soon as I get the cash flow to do so

    and thanks, I was always the skinny kid, didn't have much of a problem with that until I ended up being really tall and really skinny, then I realized I had to gain weight, plus I didn't weigh nearly enough to play basketball at any level

    I have been in powerlifting for about 7 years.Im about 5'8" . 245lbs most of the time , sometimes higher. off season i have been up to 291lbs.

    My bench is around 440lbs. i have to take a few weeks of the benching cause i have a pect tear in my pectorials minor near the insertion point.

    Squats are around 550 - 600 depending on how the day goes. It should be higher but i have an istability in my right Quadratus Lumborum which is affecting my lower back. My pelvis is slightly misaligned a few degrees but iim seeing an awsome chiropracter that has been in powerlifting for 22 years so we are working on that. He says i should be up to the 750lbs squat mark in not time once i get the right drive back from my lower body.

    Deadlifts around 600 as well. No deadlifts right now cause of teh QL.

    I usually do Squats on monday since the whole world likes to bench on Mondays.
    Actuall work sets are 5 sets of 3reps.

    Bench work on Tuesdays. uusaly 3 sets of 4 or 5 reps. Peak ever few weeks and do 3 sets of 2reps.

    thursday Military press and shoulders . go up to about 315lbs for a few. sometimes higher reps areound 6 or so.

    friday. deadlifts

    Saturday. Triceps assistance. I do skullcrushers and weighted dips.Rarely do any Biceps work. Bi-weekly i will do barbell curls with like a plate on a straight bar.

    nutrition:

    just try to keep healthy carbs up. get about 300gms a day of protien. about 400 if im going heavy for a few weeks. keep fat less than 15 percent of diet.

    I use dymatize protien shakes 3 times per day. I use purple K for creatine and take Dymatize Expand before workouts. I also take a multivitamin daily. Green tea and mill thistle.3000mg vtamin C and 1500mg Glucasomine sulfate.

    Thats basically it in a nutshelll. I folow a powerlifters style traiing basically. Eat simple and train hard.

    hot damn peaches thats some real weight. i just started doing deadlifts today, in fact before today i'd never done deadlifts. i got up to almost 200. i can squat almost that much.

    im a couple inches taller than you, but you have about 10 years and 100 pounds on me. i wish i could move the sort of weight you do, but then again ive only been lifting for a year.

    sorry for the richard simmons confusion people, it was just an attention grabber, i dont give a flying fuck one way or another, richard simmons can fuck whoever the hell he wants!!

    There was a time when I was at the gym daily, out at the clubs dancing nightly, but those days are gone. Those days, I was proud to wear a bikini.

    These days, I have to exercise daily if I want to feel good in my skin. So I do pilates with weights and one of those resistance ball DVDs. (well, that's slacked off this winter) I always take the stairs. I'm trying to eat healthier and have recently taken some steps in that direction. I've always loved my potato chips, french fries and diet Coke.

    Come summer, I'll be ready for the bikini, but right now, I'm lazy.

    YEah keep at it and it will come. Just always keep thinking "explode" when you lift. The way to target your white muscle fibres to produce more power is by explosive lifting.Even if the weight is heavy you might not move it up fast but if you are thinking to explode they still get activated.

    Its important when you squat to go all the way down too. Ass to the grass as they say. By breaking the parallel mark you transfer the load to your glutes and hams and will make coming up easier not to mention it is actually easier on the knees and allows for full development of the lower body regioun through a fuller range of motion.
    ANd another thing, makesure your stance is wide enough so that when you squat your knee line does not drift over your toe line.

    Foot spacing is pretty easy . just jump foreward in the air. When you land your toes will be pointing outward at a certain angle. that is the angle you should follow when you squat , so take a wider stance and point your toes out the way they are supposed to be.

    Deadlifts : one of my favorites and puts alot of mass on your back. I only do deadlifts for back and im as wide as a doorway. I love this excersie

    Look up and keep the back straight. when you squat down to pull use the legs and hips. Lean back like your trying to pull it up with your ass . as if your going to sit down on an imaginary chair. If you are taller you might want to consider sumo style deadlifts. just do a search and you will see what i mean.

    Bench. arc your back slightly. Pin your shoulder blades and traps together when you lie down. you will basically be on the back of your traps and your shoulders will be more tucked in . this is important so that when you lower the weight your shoulder joint does not wear away at your shoulder blades at the bottom of the movement.It also alows you to push your stomach and chest out. Keep your ass on the bench and feet on the floor for stability and safety. when you grip the bar make sure your thumb goes around the bar for saftety and squeeze the barbell. It will male you feel like your control is higher and your bench will go up . Keep your elbows in when you bench and lower the bar to the bottom of your pecs.

    Thats all for now.

    My numbers are ok but i have been plagued severely by injuries for the last 2 years. I think if all goes well i should break the 1000 barrier on squat in about 2 years. Once this pec tear heals .... im sure illlbe up to 500 on the bench by end of this year.
    I have a pic of me when i was 18 warming up with 405lbs on squat, ass about 6 inches from the floor. heh . i will try to find it and post on here. its funnly looking cause i had no facial hair , puffy face and looked like a big 13 year old.hahahaha i used to think i was hard as nails hahahaha.
