And I think that is going to go very bad for them. For one its an obvious Trump and the White House are trying to cover up. And secondly the Congressional committees can issue subpoenas and make some of them come in to testify under oath.

And if they have destroyed any of the evidence or lie under oath those are felonies in and of themselves.

 

PS It should also be noted this was not the House Intelligence committee that is allegedly investigating Trump's Russian connections that came out today and said Flynn had broken the law and the White House was refusing to cooperate. It was the House Oversight Committee.

The Republicans on the Senate and House intelligence committees continue to stall and try to cover up for Trump and his Russian connections but they do so at their own peril.

Senate confirms Rod Rosenstein as deputy AG; will lead Russia probe

The Senate has confirmed Rod Rosenstein as deputy attorney general, putting the longtime federal prosecutor in place to oversee a federal investigation into Russian influence in the U.S. elections.

The vote was 94-6 on Tuesday.

As the Justice Department's No. 2 official, Rosenstein is expected to head the investigation after the recusal of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who said he would step aside from any probes into the Trump campaign after revelations of unreported contacts with the Russian ambassador last year.

The deputy attorney general is responsible for day-to-day operations and oversight of the Justice Department's law enforcement agencies such as the FBI.

Rosenstein was appointed by President George W. Bush as U.S. attorney for Maryland in 2005 and then served for the duration of President Barack Obama's tenure.

Senate Democrats pressed Rosenstein to recuse himself and appoint a special prosecutor for any Russia investigations, and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said Monday that Rosenstein agreed to appoint a special prosecutor if it was needed.
